I am so upset!! My wedding date is not available at our selected resort. We tried several times over the past year to reserve the date and were always told that we would have to wait until at least a year before the event. I tried one last time to book thinking that i would again be told to wait. Now the day is completely full. To make matters worse there are no days close to this date available. ARGH!!!

Hopefully, this will be the first and last mishap. :)

February 2011 here! FI and I are hoping for the 26th, but we the judge won't confirm availability until April. My dress has been ordered, and my save the dates that say Punta Cana, Dominican Republic February 2011 have been mailed (the local ones have already been received, the overseas will take a bit longer). I'm so excited!!

Hi Ladies,

I need your help. I am very stressed about how to pick the resort without knowing what the price will be for our guests. Prices are just starting to come out and I've gotten two quotes that are too high but have been told by the TA that prices will drop down after the summer. Do I just book the resort now and hope that prices come down then and send to my guests when we lock in a good price? I don't want to lose out on the resort that I want. Right now I'm leaning towards Grand Palladium Bavaro. We are getting married the week of March 12, 2011.

How did everyone pick their resort without knowing what the guests will pay?

ashley - the bridesmaid dress is really cute I like it

sonyaR - I just estimated based on this years price and figured it might be a few hundred more. I secured the date and time with the resort and will wait until the packages come out from the tour operators to start working on group rates. I plan on booking aprox 6-7 months before the date.

Hi Ladies,

I am also a happy 2011 bride. I can't decide between Jamaica and Mexico. I'm currently looking at both and this site has been a great help. I want to get married in June. Hopefully I'm planning well enough in advance that I can get the date I want.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
