Anybody have American Home Shield?

We just bought our house in May. Since we have moved in, the A/C has been really loud. We had so much going on with moving in and getting my stepson moved from Canada to live with us and the wedding we didn't have time to get to the root of the problem. The other day it started getting really hot in our house and I looked in the inside part of the a/c and it was all frozen up. So, I turned it off and left the metal thing off of it so it could thaw out. I called AHS which is this home warranty contract that the previous owners bought for us as part of our agreement when we purchased our house. They called out the a/c people and I guess the compressor went out. He just called me to tell me that he ordered a new one and it should be here in a day or two and it is completely covered in my plan. We had to pay a service fee of 60 dollars and AHS pays the rest. I asked him how much it would have been had we not had this Home Warranty and he said 600-700 dollars!!!! He said he tried to get us a completely new outside unit but because the house and unit are only five years old they weren't going for it lol. Anyway, I am so glad we got this plan!! Does anyone else have AHS? Have you had to use them at all?

yes, we have them & have used them about 1-2 times a year.....completely worth it. The AC on our condo is about 20 years old, but still works! Until it goes out (or until we move) we're keeping the plan as it pays for itself!
