You should book ASAP. It true that dates will fill up very quickly. I think a date was the most difficult thing to do. At least, you already have your month and year secured. I personally like planning everything and anything early, in order to avoid any unforeseeable mishaps. Plus, it gives you time to play around with your budget without any time constraints.

Congrats

Welcome

Good Luck!

Fyi, I had my honeymoon at ROR. It was amazing. I went to RMB for my one year anniversary. You can't go wrong at either property.

Hi Vicky

I agree the free package would be best then just upgrade what extra's you want other UK brides have booked holiday through Thomson then wedding diretc with ROR as you get more selection of dates etc

I just got back from a site visit so If you have any questions I will do my best to answer you.

P.S. the resort is beautiful I am in love with Jamaica xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Vicky,

Welcome to the site. There are not many people on this forum from England!!

I'm getting married at the Riu April 2009, and I booked it as soon as the prices came out for travel - Feb 2008. We're going through Thomsons and found that as soon as we booked the flight was full!! So it might be best that you make sure all 24 definitely want to go now and just keep looking for the prices.

We ended up not being able to have the day we wanted to get married on as Thomson only have 1 wedding per day at the resort. The resort itself has up to 4 or 5 a day. So I just went direct to the Riu and booked through them. They take your credit card details at time of booking, but you don't pay until you are there!

Hi, it's best to go for the free package and add on. We are having the Royal package and adding a steel band. we weren't able to have the free package because we aren't taking that many people. We booked the hotel in July but we booked the wedding last week, we are getting married 23rd June 2009. I would say with that many guest you need to book as early as possible to make sure you all get in. Good luck.

Hey there Vicky,

My Finacee and I are still debating on which resort and ROR is our top 2. We as well are getting married april 2010. Last week, I had emailed the wedding co-ordinator for more info and she had told me that that wedding packages for 2010 will be available till Feb/March 2009 coz they book based on the judges/ministers availablity. There is a possiblity that the packages change from previous years.

I hope that helps!

Hey there Rainfall,

Just wondering which destination planner you are using. I have most of my guests coming from Edmonton and Vancouver. You can private msg me if you like since this topic is a little off the original posting.
thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
