That's awesome!!

We didn't do engagement gifts, or wedding gifts for that matter (I mean, not many material things can top undying love and devotion, right? lol).

Don't do it because you think you are supposed to, but if you want to do it go for it and make it meaningful. And like Alyssa said it doesn't have to be about the $$ :)

I didn't really get him a gift...but I decided to book a Christmas/New years cruise for us! So it is something fun we will do together and it is kind of to celebrate our engagement. (So it is cheating because I get to enjoy it too!)

It seems like wedding gifts are perhaps more popular though. I am actually not sure I am going to do that but instead since he is away at school I am going to splurge on a graduation gift. (He graduates a few months before we get married so I am hoping the gift is sort of for both!!!)

I think the wii idea is cool though!

I ended up giving him something at our engagement party. However it doesn't have to be a lot of money. Just something sentimental.

My FI is a HUG sports fan and we both love the Mets. They are building a new stadium and they have a 'fan walk' where all the bricks are etched with fan names/sayings etc... I thought it was kind of sweet because in the card I wrote; I hope that in 30, 40, 50 years our children and grand children can go to the stadium and see our brick placed there. Kind of a permanent stone placed in a place he loves. It had our names (which was weired because it had me with his last name) and our wedding date.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
