Panicking Slightly...

Recommended Posts

Hey Miranda!

It sucks that you're stressed, but...take a few deep breaths, and remember...its your wedding...and, if people want to go, departing on a Thursday could be great news for them! I mean...they get to leave work a whole day early! I know that may seem like a bad idea at first...but...they'll find a way!

As for your mom...is it possible, if she is not able to fly at the same time as you, to fly in the day after or something?

We were all booked too when Air Canada reduced the number of flights departing due to the fuel surcharge increases...so we too, had to RE-BOOK everything...including our wedding date. It all worked out though and now we have a "cool" date: 05-07-09

The same will happen for you if you DO have to make alternative plans.

No fears my dear...it will all be okay.

I'd say 80% of our guests are flying out on a Thursday. I bet yours will be ok with it. Question though, why do you need to change the date? Can't you just arrive a day earlier and keep the same wedding date? Or to keep the price down do you want to keep the trip the same length?

Hey girls - again thanks SO much for all the lovin' and support!!! You girls ROCK.

I have to change the wedding date because it's a 7-day all-inclusive package with that resort and if we leave on May 07th (the re-scheduled departure day) then I can't have my wedding the day everyone is leaving (May 14th...). So I changed the day to May 12th for now ... hopefully I can get the 14th back if Air Transat decides to add more flight days.

I would move to Air Canada, but in the past I've found their prices to be a bit high, and at the moment we are already paying enough (in my opinion) and I don't want to ask any more of my guests - and I also know that if there WAS another option available (another airline) that my TA would be on top of it faster then I could ask and would have already switched us. She's awesome at what she does and I have total faith in her ...

I told the FI last night and he was surprisingly cool about it ... said he didn't care what day we got married as long as we GOT MARRIED ... blush2.gif

Keep your fingers crossed though... I did love that date (the 14th) ... and maybe come January there will be more flights added.

I've decided not to tell anyone (guests) yet ... just in case. LOL

I don't know what I'd do without you girls though ... you saved a mini meltdown yesterday (and I'm sure you're all shaking your heads right now wondering why I got so worked up). smile35.gif

No way! You are not crazy! I had to change my date, location and travel agent 4 months into my planning! It all worked out... and I loved my wedding date, but once you start saying your new one- you'll love that one too. But I totally get it! It will all work out.
Are your guests keeping the same travel week? I would think it would be a good idea for people to have the week for vacation reasons... then the date doesn't matter as much- to them.
We have teachers too... and some can't or aren't going to make it. To off set this we are waiting until June to have out AHR. We can't please everybody!

So glad to hear your FI is so laid back.. mine is too about wedding stuff, and it helps a ton!

I'm glad everything is working out for you!! It can be so frustrating & nerve racking when things change!!!

We had to change our travel dates too!! But it was only by one day (Sun instead of Sat). I still kept the original wedding date, but I was considering changing it since FI's BM is not getting in until the day before!! I'm just concerned with the weather in January in Alberta!! And also I don't want them to get to excited when they see each for the first time in ages (iow...I don't want them to get too drunk the night before the wedding & have a massive hangover!!)

Good Luck & I hope you get your date back!!!

Your fi's response was really cute. I also changed my date and had to get married on a Thursday. then i had to change flight departures and room departures after my guests had already booked their rooms. I was also freaking out but it worked out. My TA handled everything. It's good you have a TA that you trust, let her handle as much as she can for you. And relax, everything will work out. I still have people asking me what day we are getting married and my wedding is 6 weeks away. I'm sure if you have to tell people you changed your date they wont care. No worries!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
