Hey,

I would like to find more info on the ball lights. Something that I'd like to do if it's not too pricey.

Let me know what you find out and I will keep you posted as well.

Hello girls, Well we just got back tonight from our wedding site visit and as promised I took TONS of pictures. Place was amazing, they were at 22% occupancy so not all restaurants were open every night, however always the buffet and 2 of the a la cart were always open for dinner. Staff was great, place was georgous, we cant wait to have our wedding there!

Just a little info about the area: We looked at Resorts in Riviera Maya, Playa Del Carmen, and Playacar. Resorts in Riviera Maya (off the 307), the drive there is kinda crappy area unless you're in the resort itself. Playa Del Carmen and Playacar (south of playa del carmen) the area was MUCH nicer around the resorts.

Bluebay: The pools are amazing, the food (yes even the buffet was soooo good), and the wait staff make great drinks and literally a guy would walk around the pool and get your attention if in the pool, to get your drink order...it was great!

Restaurants: The restaurants have a buffet option for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the food was great! Then there was 3 ala carte restaurants where you have to pre-set up your dinners the night before for one of these locations. It is a sit down, 3 course dinner, that takes a lot of time, but the food is great and no extra cost (and the A La carte had AC in them). We didnt book the night before and could walk up and get in each night, but only b/c occupancy was down.

Ok, in my pics the restaurants went in this order. By the main pool is the restaurant called Jaal-Ha. It is where they had the breakfast and lunch buffet. It is 2 big rooms, with access from either on to the beach and there are windows all around the walls wih ocean views. They said you can rent this for a reception, however it did not have AC in this place. Nice, more open air and casual. Either side could fit probably 200 people easy.

Then in the pics is one of the "a la carte" restaurants - Don Isi, which is the Mexican restaurant. It was ok, lots of color in this place.

The next restaurant is the place where they had the dinner buffet and it was georgous inside. Did not feel like you were in a "buffet" restaurant. I only have 2 pics of this place, but it was great. Not sure if you can rent this for a reception since its the dinner buffet location.

Next in my pics if the "lounge" area, very very cool, wooden floor and lounge seats all over. This is how you get into the other 2 A La Carte restaurants. You walk through the Lounge, and then enter a small area where you turn right for Di'Rossi (or the Italian Restaurant) or turn left to the L'Atallier (or the French restaurant).

The next place is Di'Rossi (or the Italian Restaurant), it was my favorite. It had 2 huge rooms, very beautiful inside and a red blown glass on the ceiling in the main entrance. You could fit 100-200 in this location.

The other is L'Atallier (or the French restaurant), this place also was very nice, but was much smaller (probably could only fit 70ish people max?).

Extras:

I found out you can bring decorations and have them do all the decorating for you if you send Candy pics of what you want. Also, I found out you can usually get a better room rate online than using their "group discount" through the hotel. Beach was ok, it wasn't nearly as beautiful (turquoise waters) like some of the beaches in Playa Del Carmen or Playacar, however it reminded me of a typical florida beach. Point is it still had a beach, but the pool is SOO amazing you'll never want to leave anyways. The buildings 1-5 are so much closer to everything, the other building (6-cool.gif have a great pool too, but are a litte bit more of a hike to the main pool/beach (I took pics of the walkway between the 2 spots, it a beautiful walk and we didn't mind it at all!) They have staff in golfcarts going back and forth between the buildings ALL day anyways. There is a discotec that opens each night near the "VIP" beach area, it was a blast, DJs spinning and lots of people. This is not near the buildings so it wont keep you up whatever bldg you stay.

Hope all this help you girls, I think we are going to book this place for next year, although the area around the resort (road getting there) is kinda sketchy, the resort is so amazing you forget about it.

Good Luck!

-Kerri

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
