Hi Ladies,

I just want to confirm what everyone has been told for the cost of extra people above 20 guests for the reception. I was told it would be $18/person beyond 20 people. I saw that most of the rest of you said that Candy told you it was $10/person beyond 20. If anyone has an email from Candy quoting this, that would be great if you could forward it to me at acoccimiglio@gmail.com, just so I can show her that I know she has told other people differently.

Thanks so much ladies!

Check out the packages on the website. I noticed the other day they changed significantly, so those of us who have ours booked will have different info. The packages include a cake and a bouquet.

Thanks. The packages on the site seem quite vague to me. I would like to have a private cocktail reception and private dinner reception. I read elsewhere that it's $10 extra for cocktail pp and $25 for private dinner. Just wondering how many ppl are included in the packages.

Also does anyone have a photo of the cake they provide? Can we choose this? I would like a 2 or 3 tier white fondant cake. Also, I would like 3 extra bouquets for my bridal party....

Hello - is this the cocktail recpetion you are referring to or a private dinner reception? I would like to know the info too.

It looks as though the prices have changed.... I'm not sure if that means we all have to pay up, or just people who have not paid for the packages? It's so hard getting anything from the resort, so anything extra would be very helpful! I was quoted $10.00, for the cocktail reception, however that may have now changed? Ahhh....

bclrgrl - Did your TA's rate compare to that?

Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. My TA is from Calgary Destination Weddings : Romantic Planet Vacations. Her name is Laurie. I would recommend Laurie over any of her associates.

Nurse05 and bclrgrl rates are way better than mine. Mine was $1610 with taxes and transfer from Calgary for Nov 09. The rate are ever increasing. The sooner you book the cheaper is it. Both Nurse09 and bclrgrl booked much before I did...I was getting quite nervous when I booked because I've seen the rates go up even within the month that I was communicating with my TA. If I had to book all over again, I probably would go with a different TA. Throughout my booking process, I found that quotes from different TA can differ by CAD1000 for the same tour operator, resort, dates.

Hi annieanddaryl, are you asking for the cost of a reception in a semi-private area in a restaurant? If so, I don't know what the cost would be b'cos I'm planning on a private reception. For a private reception, I'm quoted $25 pp for a minimum of 50 ppl. If you have less than that number, you'd have to pay for 50 pp.

For a cocktail hour, it is $10 pp, no minimum number of ppl. It will be a private event for the cocktail hour.

For the ceremony itself, I was quoted $10 pp over 25 ppl.

Does that help?

I'm suprise to see the changes in wedding packages. bclrgrl, they should honour their prices quoted to us before the changes. They better...otherwise, I will have a huge fit.

Re. getting an email from Candy, it's a slow and tedious process. I've only ever received 3 from her. It's not at all this painful with co-ordinators at other resorts, but I chose this one b'cos it'd be cheaper for my guests.

I called the resort regarding the changes in the packages and prices, she said that if the contract is signed we get the price and package we put the deposit on.

Hey Jojo...our wedding is in 4 weeks and we booked in January, So only about 3 1/2 months before travel. This is why we got a good deal. We just picked the week we wanted to go and waited until the prices came down low enough, it's such a huge resort that we knew if we waited there would still be rooms. I also told my TA the lowest rate I had seen on the internet, and they matched it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
