Mind me asking the price you are being quoted?

Expedia.com lists the base rate for next Dec. as $213/ni. It was recently on sale there for $171 (though it isn't now). FYI My Seattle TA quoted roughly the regular rate, but included transfers.

Hey,

As far as everyone booking my TA in Nanaimo is AMAZING, she has helped everyone. Most of the people who booked, booked on the charter flight as our price WAS amazing, however it has gone up, but she helped everyone, including my mom who booked with airmiles, and then neggotiated a deal through the hotel. I have a guest coming from Calgary and 3 from Sask, and she was able to take care of all of them. I planned the one package, and then everyone else is on there own, but a few did go different routes, all through the same TA though. :)

If people are booking flights seperate, they have to call the hotel on their own.

Jojo - That's roughly $170USD/ni which is the best price I've ever seen. I would love to secure that rate. I've got guests coming from Vancouver and elsewhere in Canada. Mind sending me your TA contact info?

bclrgrl - Did your TA's rate compare to that?

Thanks!

Chris

Hey girls I was wondering... After reading about the requirements for the legal wedding in mexico, i found out you need to have a blood test over there, if you want your wedding to be legal... Is anyone worried about that? It's only a blood test I know but hey... It's bothering me a little...

I am assuming you are worried about the cleanliness of it. I was a little worried about this initially, but I just decided to get over it. I even thought about taking needles and stuff down (I'm a nurse) but then realized they probably wouldn't let me use my own. I am just going to make sure that everything is taken out of packages in front of us and is sterile. I'm probably being really paranoid...

Hey guys,

We are getting married here first (secretly) then having the ceremony down there, I didn't want to worry about being there three days etc, however.... I have had a lot of friends get married there and its totally fine, you just have to be there three days, and not all resorts require the blood work, but if they do, its totally fine.

Also my TA got us $1485CDN taxes, transfers, EVERYTHING in, the price is going up and that was a group rate, but she has been the best TA I have ever had.... If you want more info email me at bclandrovergirl2@hotmail.com and I will forward you all her info!

Thanks so much pribrzl and amc83 for the pictures! :)

For the blood test, I guess it can't be that bad hey!.. I'm probably just over reacting... But we are now thinking it's not so crazy to do the legal wedding and paperwork when we get back here. And still have the ceremony and everything over there! Plus, I'm probably gonna be busy with the last minute details for the wedding when we get there, it migth be a good thing if I don't have to worry about this. Anyways, thanks for your comments nurse2005 and bclrgrl. It's nice to be able to get advice from you both!

cdt seattle, thanks and congrats to you to! I guess we'll be getting married approx the same time! I feel like the girls here have a lot more infos then I have myself but I'll be happy to share tips and pics with you along the way! :)

Hi Ladies,

I just want to confirm what everyone has been told for the cost of extra people above 20 guests for the reception. I was told it would be $18/person beyond 20 people. I saw that most of the rest of you said that Candy told you it was $10/person beyond 20. If anyone has an email from Candy quoting this, that would be great if you could forward it to me at acoccimiglio@gmail.com, just so I can show her that I know she has told other people differently.

Thanks so much ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
