Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda Brides post here

Recommended Posts

Ladies,

If you asked me for the sushi restaurant pics, I just sent the emails - let me know if you don't get it. AMc83 - could you please send me the images you have from the steakhouse? What did Candy told you about the outside area on this restaurant? Does it have a beach view? Thank you!

Hi - Thanks again for the sushi restaunt pics. I heard that the steakhouse has a view of the beach, but you can't tell in the picture I have. I only have one and it shows the inside but I will send it to you. I found a few more pictures on tripadvisor (they have a ton of pics of the resort from prior guests) and you can see more of the steak restaurant, but still not the outside area. I am just going of the description that I got from Candy as well as the concierge desk. They both said has an ocean view...

Do you mind me asking what the price was? It's been difficult to get any pricing info on things other than $25/person for a private dinner and I'm not even sure how long that is for.

I would be quite interested in knowing the details on cocktails or appetizers, etc.

Thanks!

The price for the cocktail hour is about $10 per person, for a 100 guests list. They have options that are $10 and $15 per person, including the open bar. We are doing 2hrs, since I thought one was going to go too fast. We are doing at the lounge area (outside area by the italian restaurant, really modern looking) and are paying for the Ipod system - we are bringing our own music. Actually, for those of you that are talking about music and options, doing the Ipod system could be something to look into it 0 it costs $100 and they provide the system and speakers - can't get any cheaper than that! We are using this for the rehearsal and also for the ceremony, in between the band breaks...

Can you please send me photos of those restaurants to jon.joann@gmail.com. I'm planning on having a private reception as well. Do you know if we can have private receptions in any restaurants other than 1) beach, 2) pool side, 3) convention room and 4) Asian restaurant?

I just found on hotels.com rooms for 2 adults, at the weekend of my wedding (May 23rd) for $149 for two people - that's $60 less than the quote I got and I am bringing 110 people to the resort! I cannot believe it!
I am planning on calling Candy this weekend to discuss and also Dario, the reservation manager. Cecilia originally gave me the prices for the rooms, but she is no longer there.
Pribrzl,

Any luck with negotiating the price with Candy?
My future in-laws are coming from Philadelphia and I'm looking for pricing for them b'cos the rates that I got from my travel agent is for Calgary and Vancouver only. I just went to hotels.com but couldn't find BBGE there, they have Blue Bay Cancun though. So, I'm thinking that I may not have searched correctly. Could you tell me which website to go to?

Thanks!

It always works like this everywhere you go, I travel more than I would like to think I do, and I can go to the same place everyweekend and get a different quote from a different person everytime.... Give them a call and talk to a manager!

bclrgrl,

Did some of your guest use a different agent that you did and ended up paying more? For those who booked on their own, do you know what websites they went to? Did they only get the flight on their own or both accomodation + flight? Did you get land rates from your TA as well?

I'm tyring to look for guest coming from: 1) US, 2) Calgary and 3) Vancouver.

For those from US, what tour operators would you recommend? I checked out Apple and Funjet but not familiar with any other American tour operators.

It's such a headache trying to find cheaper rates for ppl. I thought I've already found the best flight+accom and accom-only rate from my TA but I know discovered that it's cheaper to book flight separately and use the land rates that I got from my TA.

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
