I'm hoping to have a private reception where we can play our own music throughout the reception and have dancing there as well. I haven't ask Candy is this is doable yet.

One thing to consider, after 11pm it cost $25 per staff per hour to continue serving your party. So, I may just start dinner at 6 pm-11 pm and head to the beach party after...not sure on the plans yet.

I got a few images from her on the flowers and am looking for something similar to what she sent - I am wondering how many changes or decisions we are expected to make on site, upon arrrival. I heard from other resorts that you should be there at least 3 days before the wedding and considering the lack of communication, I am thinking the sooner we get there the better.
A friend of mine that got married there said that they brought a bunch of stuff themselves such as place cards, a few arrangements, etc. I also know that there is a Wallmart around there that you can get last minute things (i.e. votive candles, etc). I'm just really trying to think of anything/any detail and make sure it's addressed in advance....

Let me know

P.
No haven't done any of the detail stuff yet. Another bride emailed me the bouquet selection so I was looking at those. None were quit what I wanted so trying to find a pic of what I want to send to Candy. Candy told me that a month before the wedding she would start sending me the stuff that we decide from before. Not too worried about it, from the reviews from the other brides I quoted on her they made most decisions in the last 2 weeks or the day after arrival. We are having the civil ceremony so we are arriving on Saturday and out wedding is the Thursday, we'll have lots of thime to meet with her and maybe see a couple other weddings to get some ideas. Would you mind sending me the pics you have from your site visit, would love to see them. My email is peach151@hotmail.com

Thanks

Ladies,

I am so frustrated...just spoke to Candy today and her pricing info is different again...

OK...here's what she's changed her mind on:

1) Last week, she said that $25 pp for the private reception covers 4 - 5 hrs of service and over 11 pm it's $25 per staff per hour. Today, she said that $25 pp only covers 3.5 hrs of service, over that it's $20 per staff per hour.

2) Last week there are 2 appetizer options: either $10 pp or $15 pp. Today, it's $15 and $20.

3) Last week, wedding packages are for 20 guests and over that it's $10 per guest. But I asked again today: instead of "how many ppl are the packaged for" I said "Are the packages for 25 ppl" and she said yes this time. This is a good thing...not a complain, but it shows the inconsistency.

Is anyone else experiencing this or am I the only one? I am royally afraid that the pricing will change on us once we get there.

Candy just mentioned to me this week that Cecilia left, so she is doing everything on her own - there will probably be more inconsistencies, as I am sure she is swamped!

Did you get the information from her on an email? I am planning on printing all the emails we have had back and forth and bring them with me, so there is no confusion and they won't be able to change it.....(I think or I hope for).

Hi Girls, I'm getting married at the BBGE in April. I also will have 50 guests and chose the affair to remember. Nurse, I was wondering if you have pic of your wedding and of the restaurants...I'd like to get a better idea of the layout and decor and seating capacity of the steakhouse and seafood restaurants. Also, do you think they'll let us have the cocktail party on the beach rather than in the lounge?

Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm getting married at the Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda in May 2009 and would love to share my experience to date and also ask some additional questions. Is anyone booking a band? Is anyone doing a different rehearsal dinner like a BBQ on the beach?

thanks,

Heather

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
