I did the 30 day shred on Thursday and I'm still feeling it. I don;t want to lose much I mainly want to tone up and flatten my stomach. Just came back from zumba class!! I plan to exercise at least twice a week until the wedding. Plus watch what I eat.

I finished day 4 today. I can tell a difference in how I feel during it, today was rough bc I did an finished an hour of sunrise yoga about 2h before Shred. I'm able to use 5lb wts for almost everything (except last min of wt training ?lat raises?). I have to do the modified push ups, I'm such a girl!!

Keep up the great work girls.

I bought this DVD haven't started though. I'm skeptical if it's something you should add to a different workout, or if it can stand alone with good eating habits/some kind of diet/meal plan. Anyone doing this alone with that kinda idea? Without a gym workout as well? I just want to lose around 20 pounds, but am more concerned with toning up. Suggestions?!

kateandbri - I think you could definitely do this to add to a gym workout or to do alone with good eating, etc. Jillian promotes this workout as a daily thing, and she says that 20 minutes of intense cardio + strength training that you do in the 30 day shred is all you need once a day to see a difference in your body. If you combine that with healthy eating/cutting calories, you will definitely see a difference! I've been doing 30 day shred every morning, then 3 or 4 evenings per week of moderate cardio exercise like a bike ride or run, and I'm eating super clean, and in 2 weeks I've gone from 40-32-40 to 38-31-38 measurements. Make sure you drink lots and lots of water too and eat potassium sources because you sweat alot during the workouts! They are definitely intense, but Jillian is right that 20 minutes of getting your heart rate is all you need to boost your metabolism and continue burning calories through the day. Plus a high intensity workout combing cardio and strength burns the most amount of calories during the workout. You probably burn as much during those 20 minutes as you would during a 45 minute or 50 minute elliptical or run at the gym. Plus you are getting your strength training which really works to tone those muscles! Even before I noticed differences in my body, after the three day mark, I could feel my body was tighter/firmer.

I say go for it and give it a try!!! It's highly addictive and Jillian is very enthusiastic and encouraging!

OK ladies, I've spent the last couple days reading through this post, and I'm very excited to start this! my Fi downloaded it for me, and my sis-in-law is going to bring me some handweights tonight! I probably won't start until Monday as some friends are throwing us an engagement party on Saturday and I know I'll be nursing a hangover on Sunday! I don't need to lose much weight but am definitely wanting to start toning up....the wedding is 8 months away, but we've got a vacation book 4 months from now!

Thanks so much for all the inspiration! I'll keep you posted!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
