FMIL wants to give me a bridal shower....

Recommended Posts

I would accept graciously. If she's that excited about it, declining an offer like this may hurt her feelings, setting the stage for things to come. Let her know that if she does it, make it a low-key event. Enjoy it for what it is, a day to celebrate and bond with your FMIL. Then spend the rest of the weekend in your pj's :)

Thank you ladies. You are 100% right, I will have a great time.

Plus I would like to do something for my FMIL, she is a great lady. She has been so supportive and I know how much she loves to plan things. We still have over 2 years till the wedding and she already bought orange and white ribbon with our names on it for the shower! LOL

I am in the same situation. Initially I told FMIL not too worry about it b/c airfare was too expensive...we live in FL and she is in RI.

Well, she kept bringing it up, and saying that her family kept asking and giving her dirty looks b/c I wasn't having one. So finally airfare went on sale and we decided to do it the same weekend that FI will go up for his bachelor party thrown by his brother. I figured that they are giving us a lot of money to put towards the wedding, so if this makes her happy then I can just suck it up.

You may just want to let her, it can't hurt (I hope!) Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
