Registries and DW Etiquette

Recommended Posts

I agree with everyone above. Creating a registry is really fun. You can go crazy with that scanner gun at the stores and have a blast. There will more than likely be someone who is or is not attending your wedding that will want to buy you a gift, so go for it. I unexpectadly had a lady from the church I grew up in 12 years ago send a gift from Bed Bath and Beyond last week, so you never know.

I would definetly register, people are going to buy you gifts whether you want them to or not and you might as well get something you want or need rather than a bunch of junk you have to return.

We had the same thought about not wanting people to spend more money, but the majority of people we invited aren't coming to the wedding and we know they'll want to get us something. We'd really prefer cash, because we'd like to buy a bigger house, but there are still some things we need.

I think we're going to register at linens n things and macys

I kind of feel the same about the registry - they're paying enough to come see us get married. However, I think if they want to I'm ok with it (lol). We will probably either set up a savings account for a downpayment on a house, or else set something up with Tammy so they can make a 'donation' for our honeymoon. I don't think its something I'll ask for though..

I felt really bad for registering, but everyone kept asking us where we are registered. I don't want to ask for gifts b/c just being at our wedding is enough. :) We are going to register at 3 stores and one charity.

I say register so that way the people that want to buy you gifts can

So I am in agreement with everyone else about this situation... register. Thise that want to buy a gift will do so, no one will feel obligated. While Maurice and I have lived together for more than a year and had seperate housholds prior to that, we'd still like to upgrade.

I registered at Target, Fredericks's and V.S. for shower and a honeymoon site for the wedding. many people will want to give you something whether invited or not. Take advantage of this moment!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
