So, chuppa is actually for Jewish weddings - it has to have 4 posts and a cover for Jewish weddings - but it does look nice on the beach which is probably why so many other people use it...

I wanted something simpler but nice - the one I think I'm going to have is an arch draped with white linen and flowers only at the top. If you want to check it out, here's the link

Celebrate your dream beach wedding at Old Bahama Bay by Ginn sur Mer ? Luxury Villa Rentals in the Bahamas

it's picture number 4..

It's exactly what I was looking for..

I found this out the hard way when I was telling a Jewish friend all about how I wanted this really fancy CHuppa at my wedding. She corrected me, "ah, it's actually pronounced Hoopa" oh well, at least I knew what it looked like fryingpan.gif

We had a beautiful arch - not like the one that Maura posted above!

But we weren't at a Dreams place so I don't know if they'd be able to do it this way.

The rest of the aisle was decorated with tiki torches (which they never lit... not sure why).

I even got to watch the guys make it - and cut down the coconuts for the decoration. smile29.gif

I am getting married at Dreams (Cabo) and I love the one Cabobridey (holly) had. Hers was one that she rented from Cabo Flowers. I emailed the Picture to Yarai, my WC at Dreams and she said she could replicate that one for $285. Just a plain chuppa with minimal decoration was $200.

Don't know if this info helps anyone, but here it is, thought I'd share!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
