I took my after pic this morning, because I wont have time tomorrow.

I encourage everyone to take before pics, no matter how difficult. It's so hard to see progress when you look at yourself everyday, so it really helps to have a picture.

I'll post more info later, but I'm working on a plan to help everyone through biggest loser 5. If you haven't been able to get the results you wanted from BL1-4, biggest loser 5 is going to be the time it works for you. I was up until 12:30 last night reading fitness & nutrition books. I'm really excited for BL5!

i think it's great you're already gearing up for BL5 and finding ways you can help others. it's people like you who make this forum indispensable and such a pleasure to be a part of.

I do feel really great today. I'm so happy I took that before picture. I've been losing weight, but not seeing it. It's funny that the thing that motivated me the most was having a good after picture to show y'all. I knew I was losing weight but I didn't think I looked any different. So i thought it would be a huge demotivator for me to lose 10 pounds but look the same. I know health is the most important thing, but we all want to look better too.

Another great thing is that I really feel like I've made changes that I can stick with from now on. it no longer feels like a chore. i've eliminated my pitfalls and I don't miss them anymore. so it's not like I'm feeling so excited that the 8 weeks is over & I can return to a normal life. This feels normal now. i've been enjoying meals more even though I'm not eating all that i used to.

The only thing I haven't been able to fix though is my need for something sweet after dinner. I don't have my usual chocolate bar. I tried to only have small ones in the house thinking I could eat just one. but, i'd end up eating 3 small pieces after dinner everyday. to replace it I switched to altoids, becuase they taste bad after 2. still, i'd eat 10 altoids to the point where they were terrible. now i've moved on to ricola cough drops. it's the most candy like thing I could get my hands on. they don't even taste good, but I have 3 a day after dinner. so I have to break this post dinner craving. it's getting kind of silly.

i'm committed to doing the contest as many times as it's offered up until (and probably beyond) my wedding date though. even if i don't ever win, it feels good to know that i'm helping provide motivation for someone else and it's helpful to me to know i have to stay accountable to ann and all you ladies.

the bottom line is, win or lose, i'm almost twenty pounds lighter than i was this summer, before BL3, and that makes me VERY happy! i've had some people notice the weight loss (even virtual strangers) and i have a few pairs of old jeans that i've been able to fit back into. in fact, last week i was running low on clean clothes and wore a pair of jeans that were definitely snug several months ago. i can pull them up and down now without unbuttoning or unzipping! needless to say, i can't wear those anymore! elefant.gifelefant.gif
Lisa, how exciting! I love that my pants are a little big now. Doesn't it make you feel so good. I agree that 12 weeks might be better. 8 is a little short and if you have one bad week there's not much time to make a come back and win. I also think we should think about the disqualification rules. I don't think you have to miss 2 weeks back to back to be dq'd. I say if you miss any 2 weeks without prior notice you are out. Its not fair for those that do get their weigh in on time every week or for Ann who has to keep track of everyone. JMO... of course we can all decide the rules for the next one.

Morgan, what a difference! I'm kicking my self for not having a decent before picture because I feel like I look so much different now. You have been such a motivator thru BL4. I can't wait to see what you have come up with for BL5. Oh, and I finally got my P90X. I'm starting tomorrow!

yay! enjoy your p90X...Bring it!

I think we should all throw out ideas for BL5 rules. everyone seems to like 12 weeks. 12 weeks will work perfect for what I have in mind. Changing the DQ rules is fine with me.

we should take advantage of the gap between BL4 & BL5 to make a game plan to make BL5 the best yet.

When do we want to start up again? Wednesday, Jan 9th?

I thought we could also keep each other on track over the holidays to maintain our weight. it's a hard time to try to lose, but if we can atleast keep from falling off the wagon we have done really good.

good point. I'm sure it's much harder for moms to remember. I have a hard time remembering & i don't have a baby to take care of.

we can see what everyone thinks about changing any rules. It doesn't really matter to me. I am really happy with the additional weeks, but don't care about anything else. actually i probably won't compete next time so I can just help everyone else.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
