August 2009 brides

Recommended Posts

Finally! I get to be excited and not stressed and anxious! After this weekend, it's a very good thing:

So I posted when I got the total invoice from the WC, I emailed her about some of the prices that I thought were high, and she took a WEEK to get back to me. When she finally returned my call last friday (2 weeks before our date), she told me I had to pay her immediately because it would take extra time for the checks to clear her acct. (But mind you, if I pay w/ a CC there's an extra 3% charge!) We had barely even reviewed our invoice, and she gave us no opportunity to make changes- everything was supposed to be finalized (according to the contracts) 30 days prior to the date!!!angry.gif I'm still pretty upset about it. After discussing it with FI, we were like, it's her own fault if the checks don't clear in time, we weren't paying an extra 3%!! So then I wasn't sure if we could send personal checks, or if they had to be Cashier's checks, and again I was trying to get a hold of her, and she never got back to me!! Uggh! So finally, yesterday I just said screw it and sent her our checks FedEx (to Hawaii, $40!) And btw still haven't heard from her, though I called her twice yesterday.

I just hope everything is so beautiful, it will make up for all this grief!

I just found this thread!!!!! I am just over two weeks out from my wedding in the DR and I started having trouble sleeping this week.

I still have to work on programs, menus and placecards, but most of everything else is done. I am still looking for fans, but will probably end up buying the sandalwood ones at Michaels.

I pick up my dress next week and FH is picking his suit up this Friday.

Good Luck to everyone as August starts this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm leaving the same day and getting married the same day as you, 15 and 18 days left! I can't sleep either, keep thinking of things that need to get done but per everyone's advise I'm adding it to a list and since I have the next few days off I'm going to be chipping away at it. I've pestered the heck out of the guys in the wedding party, I now all have the paperwork for their tuxes finished and sent to Carnival and changed and resent and changed and resent haha you'd be surprised how difficult it is to find out the right coat size for an 18 year old who apparently thinks he is a lot shorter than he really is! I've booked and paid for the details through Carnival, I just need to worry about the photo prints after the wedding but most of the other stuff is paid for. FH finally found a great place for a welcome dinner in Miami so I'm going to go hunt for some invitations to send out for that right now! Thanks for listening to me vent, I love this forum!

oh wow ladies!!!!!!! I leave to the airport in...... 38 hours!!!!!!!!!

I at least have all of our wedding stuff packed all is paid for, except our wc i'm paying her cash for all of our stuff when we get there cause if i use cc she has to charge 10%!!!!! We have lots of rental stuff and our cake through her, so 10% is alot!

I am packing all night tonight. I usually pack all night the night before we leave and i'm so exhausted. I want to be all packed tonight.... we'll see how that goes.

Tomorrow i have a few errands to run w/ my daughter like taking our dog to boarding. But Joe gets off at 3 and then i have to go work in the lab for 40 minutes, get my nails done, tan, and run to Macys..... well our macys closes at 6 so i might do that in a different order...

But yay!!! I'm soo soo excited!

Congrats!!! I'm so excited for you! I started packing yesterday, just set some things aside that I don't need to wear before then. I also started putting together my OOT bags. I wasn't sure if I would do them ahead of time or just bring the stuff down and do it at the hotel but I'm glad I started working on them b/c it's confusing b/t sailing and nonsailing guests, couples and single.

Jac- Congratulations! I know you will have a great time and a beautiful wedding! August came really quick this summer! I can't wait for the pics, Akumel is really amazing.

I am getting a bit anxious. I have to finish decorating the menus, putting velum on the programs and mail out the luggage tags and brochures.

I want to mail them out on Monday. Wish me luck ladies!!! I had FI in Michael's today. Now that was funny! He helped pick out the ribbon to put on the menus. He looked totally out of his element.

I picked up my dress from alterations yesterday. I prepaid for our transport to and from the airport today. I will pick up our wedding bands this week and take my e-ring to be cleaned and the prongs checked. I have a trial run for makeup and hair this week. My stylist is also a friend so she is coming with us.

Packing, now that is a different story. The stuff we are taking for the oot bags and the wedding ceremony s packed. I haven't a clue as to what I am taking vacation wise. I did order some stuff from VS last week.

Ladies, our dates are right around the corner!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
