flying and group rates

Recommended Posts

here i go again...

i have another question! i searched for this one as well, and either i am terrible at the searching thing or this question does not exist on the forum. my question is: has anyone been able to get a group rate for their guests? (i have been on a few missions trips to south america, and we had a cheaper group rate due to the number of people who went.) flight is not included in the package where i want to get married, and i don't want my guests to pay an outrageous amount on flying there.

has anyone gotten a group rate for their guests? if so, from who and how much was it?

thanks again! y'all are amazing!

We are getting married at ROR and for every 25 people booked, we get a comp for 1 person, which equals about $1100. Your could devide that amongst your guests. All resorts offer different things like that. I think some cruise lines offer a comp for 1 person per 8 rooms booked, so if you have a lot of people going, that can add up quick.

You just have to check with some different resorts or cruise lines to see what they offer. Good Luck!

i'm just starting out too! we literally decided on a DW like a week ago! this was one of my first thoughts though. i want to price everything, and see what is doable for everyone. i don't want anyone to miss out because it was too expensive! we're forgoing a travel agent. my parents are avid travelers, so i'm hoping they can take over the tricky stuff! i think we'll go with the group rates because of the ability to make payments. we'll just have the guests give their payments to my dad, and he can send them in. everyone's local, so it should work out fine. *fingers crossed*

i second that. get a travel agent. book your own trip. give everyone else the travel agent's info so they can contact her/him with their questions and booking needs. no reason for you to worry about all this! my travel agent even helped by being a liason between us and our resorts wedding coordinator (she was impossible to reach)!

Ditto. TA is the way. We had to book 5 rooms (10 people) to secure our group rate thru Signature vacations - $1850 double to Riu Palace TB. Then about a month ago Signature decided to drop all their flights to Jamaica in April. thatswck.gif

Imagine my surprise, considering all my invites had gone out and my trip/wedding had all been booked -- for April!! TA came through and negotiated our original group rates with Sunquest instead. Phew. I'd have an aneurysm if I had to deal with that on my own.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
