Hello! I'm a new poster, but I've been lurking for a little bit.

I've had a search around, but so far I haven't seen anything quite like I'm after...

What I'm looking for, is some examples of letters or emails or anything like that, that was sent out really far in advance of the weddng - in my case, it will be roughly 2 years...

I want the letter to explain that we're considering a DW, where it would be and a rough date for it. I'd like to find out from the newsletter how many people would consider being able to make it, and how many couldn't possibly make it.

I'd also like it to explain, that whilst we would love for them to be there, we will understand if they can't make it...

Has anyone done anything like this? What sort of response did you get? Can I see a copy of it to read through your wording? Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks!!

I can't help with all of it but this might answer part of your question. I took this from our STD's:

We have chosen the Riviera Maya for our destination wedding. The beautiful white sand beaches and lush rainforest make it the perfect location to start our lives together.

While we would love everyone to come, we understand that because of the distance and cost not everyone will be able to be with us in the Riviera Maya. So we will be holding a celebration in Michigan upon our return home.

Please do not feel bad if you are unable to attend our wedding. While we hope you will be able to come, the greatest gift you can give is to celebrate with us whether in the Riviera Maya or at home in Michigan.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
