How do you take all the stuff for the wedding to your destination?

Recommended Posts

I am enlisting the help of all local friends and family that are goign down. Especially those with babies (as they are entitled to 2 bags also, and their closthes take up so little space). Everyone has actually been offering to mule things down so i didn't even have to ask

I took as large of a suitcase as I could... well, my second suitcase. I packed it full with stuff but made sure it was under the weight limit. Then I had a few things in with my clothes, a few things in both of our carry-ons, and then I distributed a few things to family and friends. It worked out in the end, but man was that a lot of work to coordinate!

I must say this is the best question yet. I have been wondering the same thing. My coordinator is telling me that it is best to spread things out amongst guest, people you can trust, and they must carry the thing in their carry on bags. Fear that at the air port prior or even when landed luggage people can steal things. Shipping things down is a bit risky as well. Never have an exact date of arrival and who will pick up. The hotel will tell you that they are not responsible. I am so debating this. Everyone has good points here. I will continue to think about this.

tobebridejamaica-let me know how it works out for you being that your wedding is up and comming. Congrats and good luck.

Depends on the resort...and what you want!
I would check with the WC at your destination!

My WC at my resort said not to ship anything down to Punta Cana. so check with yours first.

I was planning on splitting up stuff between me, my parents, and my sis but now what we are doing is:

- handing out oot bags a week before we leave

- just bringing favors (also our placecards), cake topper, dress, grooms attire, program fans.

we are taking everything on the plane with us. so fi insisted i keep it to a minimum. Boo!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
