The pictures of runners, napkins, sashes that they have been sending me are all just a bit off in color. Did anyone go to a fabric store and make their own? Is this very time consuming/difficult? Would it be less expensive?

I am hating trying to pick my decorations and linen color via emailed pics as I cannot put the ribbon and such with it to see how far off it is...

Suggestions?

Im making my runner. I went to Joanne Fabrics and they had my color to a T in a fancy shimmery silk... normally like 18.99 per yard.. but I had a super coupon through an email.. and it was only 7.99 per yard... soo I grabbed the rest of the bolt. I am just using mending tape in clear.... this way I get a super straight edge... I cant sew straight to save the life of me.

I am making my own table runners. I bought very basic fabric that matches the color I want and got this fuse/tape stuff that is basically like a double face tape that melts and bonds when you iron it. No sewing the edges- yeah! And I got all the fabric (enough for 10 tables) labor day weekend for less than $50

I made my own table runners, just contacted the wedding planner and asked for table measurements. Bought the fabric at fabric store to match my colors. I chose to run a ribbon down the 2 sides, so that I wouldn't have to sew. I just used fabric glue for the ribbon. This added color and stopped the freying. I then used the no sew tape, that you iron, for the ends. Simple enough with some help from my mom. Cost was about 40.00 for 5 table runner....very cost effective! Adds color to the standard resort linens at most resorts.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
