Eurostar Blue Tulum...any brides out there?

Recommended Posts

Hey

I am looking at Eurostar Blue Tulum and going to do a site visit on October 1st. I have been emailing with Angelina and the place seems very nice and accomdating when it comes to doing weddings. Is anyone a Eurostar bride? Would love to hear your feedback.

Hi gals, I am very interested in any information you hear/find about Blue Tulum. Our honeymoon is bought and paid for at the resort (via Orbitz, which I will never do again) and I'm so worried...as you can understand, I'm sure, considering all the drama.

Thanks for sharing anything you hear and I will do the same

Julie

Hi Sarah...I read that they would scale back to 44 rooms, but hadn't heard they had done so already. I did get a nice email from someone on tripadvisor who was there just a couple of weeks ago. I am posting the email below, and the full review is on tripadvisor:

The reports that the hotel was closed was a tremendous concern for the wedding that we were attending (we actually booked our trip 10 days before the wedding because we heard that it was closed). We heard no comments about the hotel closing and amenities were definitely not reduced. There are three restaurants and they were all open while we were there and there was absolutely no construction (or signs of construction) anywhere.

I am starting to think that people are confusing the Eurostars Blue Tulum (the hotel in my review) with another hotel in the area called Blue. There were some comments on TripAdvisor about room safes being broken into with master keys..but the Eurostars Blue used guest-selected codes..no keys whatsoever.Good Luck and enjoy your honeymoon.

Hi! Thanks for the detailed review, I found it very helpful. We are reserved for our honeymoon 4/2009 at Blue Tulum and I've been very concerned over reports that the resort was closing, or reducing amenities. Did you find restaurants closed? Was there construction during your stay? Did you hear anything regarding the changes? Any news is very much appreciated; as you can imagine, we have high expectations for our Big Trip. :-) Thanks for your time. Julie

It's so reassuring to hear that all the restaurants are open and that the scale-back is not interfering with weddings and vacations. According to their WC only 44 rooms are open. If anything, only having 44 rooms open will make the experience more intimate for our wedding guests. Our wedding party is staying at Eurostars 4/09 so maybe we will see you there!

That would be fantastic! I agree with the intimacy factor - one of the reasons we chose Blue Tulum was that it isn't a mega resort. I enjoy having someone else who's staying there at/around the same time and feel so much better knowing we're not alone! LOL

HELP!

Okay, so I had searched high and low for the perfect resort for my and my fiance and really thought we had found it at Eurostars Blue Tulum! I was so excited to work with Angelina who responded RIGHT away to emails and would even CALL me from Mexico - and not to return my calls but to reach out to me! WOW! :)

I was in heaven when I set my date for May 23, 2009 and was moving on to things like photographers when I get the shock of my life (okay maybe overly dramatic, but pretty darn close!) I receive an email from Angelina at midnight last night saying that all weddings after April 15th, 2009 are CANCELED and need to be rescheduled to before this date!!! The most frustrating part is that she really won't explain why! I am fluent in Spanish so all my contact with her has been in Spanish and all she says is that it's because they are changing the administration. I said, that's great but why does that mean my wedding gets canceled?! And she doesn't say anything - just well that's what they're telling me to do, etc. etc.

So I hate to be suspicious of people, but honestly at ths point I can see only two explanations:

1) The new administration wants to close the hotel during low season (which I can understand, but why not just tell me that's the reason?!)

2) Angelina is maybe being let go from the hotel and she wants to make sure she gets the commission from my wedding?

I'm so flustered right now and don't know what to do! As you can imaginem my Save the Dates went out, my flight has been booked as well as several of my other family members, and I had already asked for that week off from work.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'm just freaking out!

Thank you.

Claudette

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
