How as your experience been so far?

Thanks :-)
the wedding planner for the villas is really organized, although not so quick to respond. We had sent a few emails back and forth like 9 months before the wedding and really hadn't settled on alot of things. Well 6 months till the wedding I get a huge email, well written, addressing everything and asking for decisions I hadn't made yet. If you need advise on music and flowers there are some really great forums, but I found that what everyone loved on the forums, is what the wedding planner also recommended. what is your date? and where in VA do you live? I also think there are many decisions you probably don't fully commit to until you get there. Happy Planning!!

Hi Jodyann,

Sorry for the late reply. I was on vacation for a week. I live in Alexandria, VA. I reserved my date yesterday and it's 8/15/09. My wedding planner is Oneika. Who is yours? I sent her an email yesterday and hopefully, i'll hear from her soon. BTW, when is yours?

Ssleenyc - Just booked mine too. MY wp is Oneika. I sent her my first email yesterday and i'm waiting for her reply. What's your date?

Stbmrsperry - I don't think they have any restrictions on vendors. I haven't heard from my planner yet but i will let you know as soon as i find out.

my date is 11/14. Linus is my planner but so far I have only heard from Kerry. She asked some basic questions but I really would like to start off speaking with Linus. I think she is very busy and new. And they are probably handling weddings as they come. I am hesitant to just give her a number though when it comes to budget. I would rather try to get a sense of what I am envisioning will cost and then scale back when I understand the tradeoffs.

  • 1 month later...

Hi negrilbridetoo, Congrats! Planning is okay. I'm just a little worried cuz my planner doesn't seem to be very responsive. It takes her around two weeks or so...just to reply to my emails. My plan was to finish reserving some of the major things at least four moths before the big day....but I don't think that's gonna happen. I'm just hoping that maybe when my day gets closer sheâ€ll give me a little more attentions. Weâ€ll see...

BTW, I noticed youâ€re in Maryland. Iâ€m in Alexandria, Virginia. So, when is your wedding? Mine is in August. How far are you with the planning?

Thank you and Congrats to you too rydm!

I wish you luck with your planning. It must be frustrating to have to wait for information like that. But I am hopeful that they will come through in a timely manner for you.

Yes, I am in Maryland and am planning for a May 1, 2010 wedding. It has been such a process trying to find the right resort though. We would like to have the resort finalized today after spending many days 'ironing out the wrinkles'. I guess next I will focus on invitations? :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
