(late April). Where are you thinking about having the wedding now?
We are thinking of having it at either The Grand Palladium, Rose Hall Resort, &... not really sure yet...I am trying to get a list together of properties to visit while we are there, any suggestions would be great!

They quoted us an $80 per person dinner, but it was all vegetarian food, we also thought it was a bit expensive, especially since we were planning on taking over both properties. We ended up at Solis, the Palmyra (not AI, but they gave us good room rates), in MoBay, hasn't opened yet which is a bit nerve-racking but its gotten good press so we'll see...

Im getting married at moondance in June. My travel agent said its the best in Negril, but I personally have yet to experience it. I really could use some advice on music and flowers, as those are things i have yet to do.

We have some people staying at Moondance, we have reserved the one bedroom for us, the four bedroom, and one of the five bedrooms. We have people staying in Crystal Waters and Beachcomber also.

I think we'll hit the number of guests staying to guests allowed on the grounds just about perfect, i guess we'll have to wait and see.

Hello everyone. I am also looking at Moon Dance Cliffs. Thinking about having eveything at Moon Dance Cliffs. If we took over the whole property, then there would be no issue with guest restrictions.

It looks like you could have the RD, ceremony, and reception all at the Cliffs. What do you think the pp cost may be for this?

I am getting Married at Moon Dance Cliffs next December. We have reserved the entire resort minus the honeymoon villas, as we wanted to be in the 5 bedroom villa with our wedding party. (I now regret not reserving the honeymoon villas as well. Some of my guests want to stay in them and they have both been booked by honeymooners already!) When I spoke with the wedding coordinator she said the cost would be around $60/pp for the wedding dinner and an open bar. She said they are in the process of creating 3 different menus to chose from, but you can customize any of them at no extra charge. We figured it will end up costing our guests around $1,200-$1,400 for 4 nights, food/drinks, and airfare. The ceremony is included as are the basics for the reception (tables, chairs, basic decor). We are doing out honeymoon at Moon Dance Villas for 4 nights after our wedding. Let me know if you decide on Moon Dance! :)

My fiance and I went to Jamaica to do site visits and toured Moon Dance Villas. It IS THE BEST IN NEGRIL! Trust me, your travel agent did great! The property is even more beautiful in person and the staff is so helpful. We wanted to have our wedding there but the property is not large enough so we are doing ours at Moon Dance Cliffs.

As for flowers, Moon Dance uses Floral Fantises and it looks like the do great work. Looking at pictures from past weddings at MDV I love when they do the flower petal isle. It's so pretty! Your wedding website looks great. How exciting to already have a whole resort filled!

Ya I'm really excited to have so many people already making reservations, except friends takes a little more urgency for them to take care of everything. But all they have to do is call my travel agent and they take care of it from their.

Do you have the floral fantises website? I was checking out Tai floral but havent made a commitment yet. I still need to find music and a few other things.

I've heard moondance cliffs are great, but they're relatively new so many places I looked didn't have much to say. But I'm sure if its with the same builder/owner or whatever that it would be comparable standards. Were you able to check out the cliffs when you were there.

Hi Sparkles8300 and Jodyann08 -

Happy New Year to you both - and congrats on your wedding and upcoming wedding. My finance and I are looking forward to having our wedding also at the Moon Dance Cliffs in Negril - During our search for a location, we fell in love immediately with the hotel layout. We have decided to do a buyout of the cliffs from April 17-19 in order to have our wedding there. I was wondering since the last time I saw the location was back in June 08 and well it was pretty much just rubble - basically a construction. If you're recently visited this location and have any photos you can share with us please let me know as we are concern on whats completed and whats not.

Regarding any pricing, according the the blog above it seems as the pricing for the reception is $60/pp - were you able to get all inclusive rate - if any what kind of pricing are they offering..

Thanks again.

Hello ladies!

After a disastrous planning with a resort in Mexico - way too long but long story short they cancelled our wedding date! We have decided to look into Jamaica. I came across the Moon Dance Cliffs and must say I fell in love with them! Does anyone have any pictures/information/etc. that will be helpful? I will be calling them soon to see if they have our date available (May 23rd, 2009) I know it's relatively short notice, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! :)

Thank you all!

Claudette

My pictures were taken back during the first week in October. They are hoping to have everything done by FEB. I think it will look great by all of our dates! I have seen updated pics (they were private so I can't share) and the pool is totally done now, the villas are totally done (minus the hot tubs) and the gazebo is finished. The hotel part was still under construction. However, it has been over a month since I have seen any new photos so more is prob done by now!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
