How to say no...

Recommended Posts

So I'm starting to finally get my responses back from several guests. I have specifically stated on the envelope who the invite is addressed to and I got a respond from a friend indicating that she is bringing her son, husband, brother and sister in law. WTF!!! I feel like Im turning into bridezilla!! My close friend is single and wants to bring a date, I was ok with that but its like she dates a different guy every month and I know I wont be seeing him the month after that...And my mother in law....she is like inviting everyone without my consent... ugh-- Im soo annoyed!! How do I say NO??censored.gifmad2.gifmad2.gif

I would just tell them that you don't care if so and so goes on vacay with them, but they cannot come to your wedding because you are limited to a certain number of guests due to space constraints.
I agree. Actually, I honestly dont think you even need to give any excuses, just let them know EXACTLY who'se invited to the wedding and that the rest of their vacation is their business.

this kinda happened to me with FMIL inviting EVERYONE. she actually thought she was doing us a FAVOR, because she thought the more people we got to go, the better group rates we could get! LMAO

we had to set her straight that although it is an all-inclusive, we are still paying per person for a private, intimate affair. people are more than welcome to vacation with us but only those invited to the wedding can attend it. she sorta gets it now.

but tom's half-brother and his wife are invited, and they are bringing her parents along with them on vacation, mostly to help watch their baby. honestly, we've had so many people drop out we told him to give us their address and we'll send them an invite as well.

I agree with the other girls. I would call her and say something like "I see you replied that you, mr. and child are attending in addition to brother and sil. The resort is very strict about the number of people and I hadn't planned for brother and sil to come to the wedding. I hope you understand we just can't accomadate that many people. Good Luck! I know its aggravating!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
