Allyson is having her reception at Oceana. You can try hitting her up for the info.

Plus the fiesta sounds like a lot of fun and I would like to go! Are Oceana or Seaside Grille rentable? I don't see anything on the wedding guide online....

I am actually having my reception at Oceana on a Saturday night. It's around $2,000 to rent though because they close that restaurant for that evening and it is just yours for you event. I am not sure how you would book it through the hotel because I am actually using Dazzling Details as my wedding coordinator and they book everything for me. It is a great location because it has it's own beach, and if it rains you don't need to get a tent which is expensive as well! I would ask about it....I know seaside grill is rentable as well, but it was too small for us I believe and we were only expecting around 50 guests. Oceana has a lot of space for a dance floor(another thing you don't need to rent!) Good luck! and if you want to see a video on Oceana, I believe 'mishka designs' may have one posted on her facebook page....very helpful.

Nope....I know it seems expensive. I originally wanted to rent a villa or something but it was way too expensive. The $2k is JUST the rental fee. This may be higher or lower now, or they may not even be renting it....I have no idea. I booked this back in January. I was reluctant to pay it as it did seem expensive, but in the end, all of the good factors weighed in!

We are having our wedding on the beach in front of Oceana and we rented out the restaurant for the reception. We are using Mishka for our wedding... she is fabulous and was super helpful in the decision making process...for example the video she made for us on her FB page. (We were torn between having it at Oceana or on the beach and renting a tent)

At the end of the day we went with Oceana for the following reasons....

- we are getting married in October and didn't want to worry about the chance of rain

- wanted something a little bit more private

- Las Palmas was too small for the amount of guests we will be having

- Renting a tent is super crazy expensive (plus you need to also rent a dance floor $$)

The information provided by rus is a little bit different than the information/process that we went through. ....we went directly to Dreams in order to rent Oceana.(Rebecca) The rental agreement is between us and Dreams. We did pay a deposit in order to reserve the space for that night. We also needed to pay a separate deposit to reserve the actual wedding date and for the ultimate package. (So the rental fee for Oceana does not include any packages)

Also, in order to lock in the date and reserve Oceana we needed to provide our booking/reservation number showing we were booked at the hotel. Until we provided the confirmation number we were able to "hold" the date, but the resort would not process the deposit until they received the confirmation.

Can you let me know how soon the charge goes through on your credit card? I sent my Charge Authorization Form in weeks ago to Samantha, not Rebecca and she keeps saying that my date is booked even if the deposit doesn't go through. I'm supposedly booked for May 24, 2011 but I don't feel like it's 100% secured until the deposit is taken. If yours goes through soon, then that means that Samantha has no clue what she's doing..

Can anyone else comment as to how soon their deposit was taken after they gave them their info?

We had a similar situation...Email your confirmation or reservation number o to the WC at Dreams and include the dates that you are arriving and departing. They will look for you in "their system" and once they can ID you as staying at the resort than they will deposit or run the credit card pretty soon after that. I think they processed our credit card information within that week.

Rebeca did tell me through email that it wouldn't go through until I sent in my reservation confirmation. We are booking our flights/room later this week, so as soon as I do that and email her the reservation confirmation number, she should process the deposit. I'll keep you updated though, m1984

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
