DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

My daughter got married in PV a couple of years ago. All of the guests stayed at Dreams. However, her wedding was actually at LeKliff. If you have not already booked Dreams for your wedding site, I would highly recommend LeKliff. Check out their website at lekliff.com. Very, very romantic place for a wedding, dinner and reception. My daughter's in-laws hosted a "rehearsal" dinner at Dreams, which was very nice. It was a private dinner set up beside one of the side pools.

I can't wait to see your welcome bags Jill. We have bought a lot of items for ours, but haven't yet put them all together...waiting for the final count. Initially from the early response to the STD, we thought we'd have about 60 people. But now we are getting new reservations from the invites- I think we are looking at 90 people- talk about panic...I don't know what to do. Upgrades for us our going to out of the question with 90 people. Rebeca told me that Las Palmas terrace seats up to 70, so I don't even know what our options will be for 90 at the reception. I hope we are not stuck indoors. I emailed Rebeca today and am waiting for her response. Any suggestions?

So this is kinda off topic, but I was thinking about starting a Star Fish Passing for the Dreams PV girls. Same thing as the other ones that are floating around on the forum, but since a lot of us overlap in the next couple of months it might be easier to get it to one another. What do you girls think? I'll start a new thread and get one ordered with a cute little log book. Any takers?

If you don't want the beach they have the World Terrace too. Both hold a bunch of people.

WOW that's a lot of people! You guys must feel so loved! I know it's overwhelming right now but seriously that is so wonderful! And I'm sure it will work out - on the beach or world terrace like Autumn suggested. Take a deep breath & let us know what Rebeca says. :)

Autumn, I am glad I am not the only one who thinks my fiance is crazy with wanting to put the bags together down there. But not having to bring the stuff down in nice. I am def. want to preorder the bags and bring them down with us. And then since we will be there 3 days before the wedding, we can take one morning and just head into town and hit up the market downtown and get some authentic mexican stuff for the bags, then head over to costco for snacks and such. We are also going to get the groomsmen some tequila down there as part of their present. Whew I guess I am going to be doing a lot of shopping! :)

Kimberly, don't freak!! I am sure Rebeca has a backup option for your wedding. And like Autumn suggested the beach and the world terrace are other options for you. How did so many extra people start to book?? We are planning on putting on our invites "Please note, that unless invited, no guests are allowed." Is that rude?? I just totally can't afford to go way over our budget just because my FI's mom's boyfriend wants to bring his grown up kids and mother with him for example.

And Autumn I am totally in love with the Dreams Traveling starfish idea!!! Let us know what you find and decide on and how we can help!

Jess - if you have the chance, I'm curious about using the Gazebo for the cocktail hour and Las Palmas for the reception. That's our plan right now, but would you mind just looking at them both in relation to one another, etc. and see if you think that's a bad idea for some reason? Also, is the price list you posted the current one for 2009?

Are the linens on there if you want something extra? I thought basic white linens were included?

I am soo confused by all the different price lists, etc. for things for Dreams, not to mention all the different quotes and stipulations people seem to get for the same things. I wish they had just one list of everything. Every time I think I understand something, it seems like I read someone else was told something different and it makes planning really difficult!

Also, has anyone used the projector or have info on that? We were thinking of it, but it sounds kind of expensive.

Jillian - did she say there was no set-up fee because you have the Ultimate package? She made it sound free to me regardless, but then someone else on here (I think) said there was a set up fee for some things.

Autumn - What is the starfish idea?

Thanks Thanks Thanks!

Jamie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
