I have a question about the photography. I have the ultimate package. They have just told me that the coverage doesn't even include any of the cocktail hour or reception. To have this covered, it is an extra $1000. Did any of you pay this?? It seems soooo expensive. I was going to have an outside photographer but cancelled her after hearing good things about the resort photogs. Now I'm kind of regretting it....

And they've told me you only get the online slideshow for a year! Did anyone buy a copy of theirs? How much?

Hi,

I just had my wedding at Dreams PV May 9th and it was wonderful!  As for the pictures, my photographer Cris, was with me through cocktail hour and the reception had photos of the first dance, cake cutting as well.  So, I am not sure who gave you that information, but your photographer should be there.  As for the slideshow, I was not told it was only for a year, I will have to see if I can figure out a way to copy it to disc.  If I am able to I will let you know.  I am really sorry to hear that Esman is leaving, I had 4 wedding coordinators within about 9 months time.  Everytime I heard there was a change I contacted the new WC to make sure they had all of my information and forwarded all of my e-mails.  Good Luck with everything, try not to stress too much my wedding was way beyond my expectations, everythig went perfectly.

Hi Crystal,

I got married at the gazebo, and I asked Esman and he told me where to meet him.  I walked down to the meeting point with my neice who gave me away and the photographer.  Check with the WC once you get to the resort.

So I am not even sure if it is worth it to have one.. I am just wondering how you know when to come down to the beach. Do the wedding coordinator take you down and tell you when to walk and what not? I am curious. Thanks

The photographer was included from the time we started getting dressed (about 2pm as our ceremony was at 3pm) till we cut the cake, which was at about 9:45pm... the only extra we paid for was I believe about $500 to buy a cd of all the photos taken (edited and unedited)...

When we were looking at flowers for our bouquets I believe that we were told that orchids would be extra and very expensive.... if that's true (and I'm remembering correctly) that could be why your  bouquet was quoted at so much.... ?

Not sure what your other colors are but if you want to do purple orchids and calla lillies then you could order a few of them loose from a vendor that does real touch and have them added to your bouquet of white roses or flowers that are your other colors down at Dreams.

Shipping question!!
I was planning on shipping my center pieces and some decor down ahead of time. Has anyone done this??? I want to make sure it a)clears customs b)gets there c)makes it in one piece. I was planning on using DHL or FedEx and having it insured, but I'm still nervous. The latest WC told me to "pack them well because customs is tricky" What is that supposed to mean?!

Our center pieces are candles in glass vases. I think they have a better chance of breaking if I checked them as luggage on our flight, plus there is so much we'd spend a fortune in extra and over weight baggage.

ANY help is greatly appreciated!! cry.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
