We are doing the ultimate package and seated dinner. The buffet is just way to much!! We are expecing about 50 plus people but having them remove the cocktail hour. I have been doing a little research and most likley going to use the puerto vallarta adventures photographers. They do good work from what I can tell. I really want to do the bonfire though... It's hard for me to pay $400 for some smores. LOL I can get them from the store for $30! Are you ladies doing the bonfire?

We are doing the bonfire.  We were quoted 300 from Esman. I wouldn't pay 400.  That is too much of an increase in price.  I think the adventures photographers do a good job also.  That is probably the main reason we are doing the ultimate package.  If you are removing the cocktail hour and getting the ultimate package, are you having the mexican trio play at your reception then?  Do you know if we can pick our photographer from adventures?

i don't see why not...i remember others talking about bringing bigger cups for drinks. the only negative is that your drink may get warm/ice may melt by the time you're 1/2 way done. if you want, bring it - worst that happens is that they don't let you use it!

Thank you so much for your review!  Some of the things that worry me (like the old tower rooms) have put my mind at ease.  I really want my guests to enjoy the resort.  I wish we would have booked Le Kliff now but decided to stay with Dreams for ease.  It's too bad that they seem to be experiencing growing pains.  Hopefully they will staff more wedding coordinators or people will stop having their weddings there.

I will now go and get my bank statement to show we paid the deposit.  Thanks for the tip and congrats on your marriage!

I just paid of $350 US to do the bonfire.  My guests and I are staying at Dreams but we are getting married at Las Caletas.  If I was doing my wedding at Dreams, maybe they would give me a "discount" of $300.

I was wondering if anybody knows how much the spa charges right now for hair and make-up.. I was going to have somebody with me to do it, but now they are not coming.. Also I have seen pics on dreams fb page with brides toasting right after the ceremony with colorful cocktails..They look delicious..:-). Does anybody know how much extra that is instead of champagne?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
