FYI future Dreams Brides. I found Louise on Facebook through Dreams' Facebook page, maybe we can also use that to keep her communication more consistent? Search for her under: Louise Dreams-Weddings

Hi guys,

I know there was a thread about this a long time ago but I didn't really get a response to it and I've tried searching but nothing's come up. I recall reading somewhere that there is a $500 fee for an external vendor. I've been following this thread closely and it hasn't come up again. Can anyone that has recently gotten married confirm if that's true? If so, is it $500 for per vendor? We have booked our photography with Karla Benitez, of PV and for some reason, I recall something about anyone that is local only having to pay the day pass.

Also, I was planning on booking a make up artist to come in and do all of my BM's make up. Surely, there's no cost for that? Would I have to pay a daypass for the make up artist to be able to come into the hotel?

Sorry if these questions seem silly.. but I really appreciate any input anyone could give me with their recent experiences!

m1984... I'm not sure about the vendor fee, but as far as makeup goes I had mine done by the same person in the spa that did my hair (Bianca I believe her name was) and it was the best makeup job I've had. I would suggest her unless you really want to go outside. She did a great job of my hair as well...

I think the policy on outside vendor fees may have changed recently.

Here is what Rebeca told me back in August:  [Rebeca] actually it is a $500 usd surcharge fee PER OUTSIDE SUPPLIER you decide to bring into the property and you can not bring more than 3.

But here is what Tania said in November re the fee:  "If you decide to hire your own photographer will be fine, but when you hire an outside photographer the hotel will be charging you a $100usd fee to let him in property since we have those services in house."

I actually have a document that states if the photographer is from PV, you only have to pay a day pass. I don't enough points to attach it here, but anyone interested, PM me and I'll forward it to you!  I don't know about other vendors. I am actually probably bringing in hair and makeup, so I better find out!

Ok I just checked; here are the first two points:

EXTERNAL PHOTOGRAPHERS POLICIES

In the terms when the client decides to use the services of an external photographer, the Dreams Puerto Vallarta Hotel has certain rules, policies and procedures to be observed:

  1. The client will be charged a $90 usd per person daily fee, for using the services of an external photographer.
  2. The above fee will cover each workerâ€s dinner and non alcoholic drinks, at the event area and during the dinning time.

There are a total of 13 points on it, mostly stating that the photographer cannot damage anything. If the photographer requires any assistance from Dreams, there is a $500 fee. Anyone who needs this, PM me!!

Thank you so much gowiththeflow!!! I thought I saw that somewhere but it never was mentioned again! I will pm you my email! What a relief! The fiancée is livid about paying 500 for the photographer to come on site! And dreams2011 that's so great to hear!! I would so much rather the hotel do the make up as it's just so much easier. I know bridal hair and make up is included but does anyone how much it costs to have it done for your BM? I have 4 and only need hair since one BM is a hair stylist and will do hair. Again thanks guys!!! Were getting married end of May and I figured I should start looking into these finer details and stop holding off.

Hi Palapa Girl!

How much are they charging you for the day and what are they doing specifically?

As per the email I received on December 12, 2010 from the Dreams PV spa the cost for Hair Styling is $55 USD and make up is $45 USD.

That's also what I paid in May for my BM's hair/makeup. Bianca did mine & 2 other girls in the spa did the BM's (1 BM had both hair & makeup, the other 2 just had makeup). All of them did a fabulous job!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
