DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

(Another one of my random questions)

For the oot bags...did anyone pay to have them delivered to the room? Were all the bags the same or did you include a name tag on each one? Also what if someone upgrades or changes rooms... how will they get their bag? I'm trying to decide if this is something I want to hand deliver or just let the resort take care of. Thanks so much!

We did. Most of them were the same, but one was for a single guy, one for a family of 5 (with toys) & we had some extra stuff we threw in our parents' bags so we wanted to make sure the bags were given to the right people. We tied tags I made on the bags & wrote names on the back of the tags. We grouped the bags together by date of arrival & gave them all to Rebeca. She arranged for them to be delivered after each guest checked in & it worked out perfectly. DH & I were both very glad we forked over the $ to have them delivered b/c it was one less thing for us to worry about.

we handed them out when we saw our guests. there was one group that i didn't see before the wedding, so i had my mom deliver it. IMO, i think it's a nice way to personally thank people for coming. fyi, dreams won't tell you what room number people are in, but they will connect you so you can ask them yourself.

Hi everyone!  I am getting married at Dreams PV in April 2011.  I just reserved my date a month ago, and decided on a Friday ceremony and reception since all the Saturdays were already booked.  After reading a few comments here, I am nervous about the theme night on Fridays!  I am having the ceremony at the gazebo and reception at Las Palmas Terrace.  Anyone have any idea if it will be too noisy?  I had planned on renting the speakers for ipod music, but want to make sure everyone can hear it!

Also, does anyone have any recommendations on the food?  I am having 30-35 people, so plated menu, and I would like fish but am concerned about my guests being picky eaters.

I just started the planning process (and reading this thread), so I have a lot to learn!

Hi Angela and welcome!  Take a read of some of the reviews eg. Jess and Autumn had their weddings there last year and I think Kat just had hers this past May.  I actually was there on holiday when Jess was getting married but we were leaving that very day. We went to Dreams last Nov. just for a vacation. We had not yet decided on a location for our destination but after spending two weeks there and saw some weddings, had fantastic food and delicious drinks we decided to book our wedding there. The food at the resort was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.  We are going for the fish and chicken for entree choices and calamari and soup. I read the soup was such a great hit. There are vegetarian and kids choices available too. I think if you guests are super picky well ...you can't please everyone. There is 24 hr room service and it is awesome as well.

Hope this helps.

Hey does anyone have a current theme nights list?  I've asked Rebeca like three times and she keeps ignoring that one question.  Grr.

Oh and just to mention, I am renting the wine celler for a family dinner one night and it is now apparently $200US and you get 2 bottles of wine "plus more" but when I asked what the "plus more" meant I never got a response.  I think another bride bought 2 bottles of wine and was able to use it.  Apparenlty since it's popular it now costs more.  F*ckers.

April, two months tomorrow is your day!!!!

That is crzy, $200 for basically 2 bottles of wine since the dinner is part of the all inclusive right?

As for the theme nights, I have 2 daily activity sheets that I kept from last year but it was I think it was for a Friday Sunday. We too asked what show would be happening on our night and Rebecca could not tell us as she said it changes but that was a few months ago when we asked. I am sure by now they should have it mapped out as to what is going on. I may try to email the hotel via their website contact to see what answer I get. I will ask about Tuesday and Wed. nights. I will let you know if I hear anything and also share it will teh BDW ladies.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
