Jess - thanks for all the info...... is that a cat or a dog?!?!!??!
I have heard the makeup and hair services are pretty good, like Jess. I am almost positive Lauren had her hair and makeup done there, but I haven't been on her review in awhile to be totally sure.

I am flying my own photog in like Jess so I haven't really heard if they are good or bad, I just know from the quote Rebeca sent me they are stupid expensive for not having outstanding reviews everywhere. I used to have the link to their website but I must have deleted it. But I would say just email Rebeca for their website and see if you can get any reviews from her from other brides.

ARRRGH! It took me so long to write my reply that it logged me out and now I have to start over! Let's see if I can remember what I wrote....

Autojo - Thanks for the suggestions! I think I will leave them bundled. It's so hard to picture what this will look like when I haven't seen the bouquet's or the tables!

April/May: I am not getting my hair done there, but there are some reviews some place on the forum (with pictures) and they are positive. My package doesn't include it, and I'm too cheap :) Plus, I don't want anything particular and something simple, so my mom and BMs are going to do it. I did go to a wedding at a place in Cancun where the bride HATED her hair at the resort salon - she did some last minute frantic re-arranging after borrowing some hair styling stuff from guests - so my word of advice would be to do a trial run before the wedding, or do it early enough that if it doesn't turn out, you have time to "fix" it.

We are using Beth Lloyd as our photographer. There are a lot of great and reasonably priced photogs in PV. The reviews of the Dreams photog are around some place and are okay, but seem pretty basic and it didn't sound like you get the digital prints (which we want). And pictures are really important to us, so we decided hire someone.

NEW QUESTION - Does anyone know if we have to pay to have our photog come onto the property? I know you don't for guests as long as they come within 30 min of the ceremony, but she'll be there before that to start taking pictures. Also, in our contract we have to provide her with food. Has anyone does this? Is it the same meal as you feed your guests (and same cost)? Or does the hotel offer a less elaborate meal? I understand the need to eat, but at the same time she needs to be taking pictures, not sitting down to a three course meal, to I'm not sure how that works. And WHERE does she eat? Do I make sure she has a seat at the table? Thanks!!

Has anyone else become a lot less productive at work?

Jamie - I'm using Nate Cordova (usually he 2nd shoots for Beth so they probably have similar requests in their contracts.) Rebeca told me that my photog did not need a day pass and I would just have to pay for his meal. Actually this is what she said from our email conversation:

I have booked Nathan Cordova to photograph the wedding. Do I need to get him a day pass so he can enter Dreams?[Rebeca Gonzalez] if you want him to have dinner, then you will just have to pay for his dinner, if not, just with the name.

I'll email her and see what she says about a vendor meal and such.

Or is this a bad idea? Thanks!
i did this. my bouquets were enough for the table - there were settings for 10 ppl per table, plus candles plus the flowers = plenty on the table. they were bigger than those in the pic that was posted.

i know that you're a noob, and i REALLY hate to sound obnoxious, but read the thread!! it's here as a resource, not for the same questions to be asked over and over again. my review includes hair and makeup done at dreams salon.

i put in my contract that he would not have to pay but would be provided with a meal - he had the same meal as us (i didn't think it was fair to give him anything less, but he did not partake in cocktail hour or dessert). i think he just stood on the side and scarfed the food down, but idk. in the contract, i specified that he would be coming in to meet us and check out the grounds, and the whole day of the wedding AND for a TTD shoot the next day. technically he was only supposed to be there for one meal (during wedding), but he ate several meals with us. no wristbands = one full photographer :)

Thanks for reminding me that the photog needs to eat! :)

I think since I'm only having a MOH for my bridal party (that saves me $ on bouquets), that I'll prob still do the centerpieces. Lauren, I couldn't see your bouquets as centerpieces in your review/slideshow? I PM'd bride Sarah to email me any pics of her centerpieces too.

ps. Lauren, I've read your review and checked out your pics tons of time! It gets me excited about going!!!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
