DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

Hi Nat! Welcome to the site :)

Rebeca is just the wedding coordinator. She can't help with the room stuff.

Start working on a wedding date with Rebeca because they tend to book up quick. Make sure the open dates meet your travel budget.

Contact a TA on this forum to help you get moving on the rooms, airfare, group discounts, etc.

Once you have that stuff in progress either work with Rebeca on the wedding details or hire an outside WC. Dazzling Details does amazing work, there are a couple of threads on them if you do a search.

Good luck planning and do lots of searches because there is already so much info on BDW!

Hey ArmNat....I'm not using Rebeca but I am using Kristin at the Dazzling Details and she is a life saver. She is handling everything except for the room block - which I used a TA for as Dreams direct had higher pricing and wouldn't budge. Kristin isn't cheap - but compared to a California wedding...she is very reasonable. I'd highly recommend her - it's made my life really easy. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'd email her for her pricing as it may have changed since I booked mine earlier this year...I am having about 80 people.

Thank you all. For those that do not mind, would you let me know what Kristin of Dazzling Details is charging so I just get an idea, even if it is not current? I have emailed her, but as you can imagine, I am anxious. I was not expecting everything to move so quickly. Until a couple of days ago, I thought I had until June . . .LOL

Welcome Nat! We were originally wanting Feb 2010!!!! Make sure to check out Lauren's photos and thread! You can definitely find a lot of info you need on this site and thread.

Couple things to think about....

Rebeca won't run your card for your deposit for the wedding date until you and your FI secure your reservations through the resort, so make sure you are ready to book your trips as soon as you get a TA.

Also, have you thought about photog yet? Bringing one with you? or getting one in PV? There are great options for either!

Welcome Bags and/or Favors.... I'm personally using Mishka (she is on this forum) and I know many other brides are too. Her maracas are georgous! and I think reasonably priced.

Also use the DIY forum!!!! I probably check it every day!!!! This will seriously save a lot of time! A lot of my welcome letters/itinerary/etc are from templates I stole from other brides! We love to share, so don't hesitate to Private Message us and ask!

And don't worry about the timeline either - the main thing is to just get your date and your travel plans set. Next, STDs, invitations, and probably photog. Depending on if you use the WC or Rebeca at Dreams, it pretty quick to set everything up.

Rebeca has been awesome for me (and from what I can tell for most brides on here!) so it just depends on your budget! DD does amazing work! just check out their blog!

The Dazzling Details

But I'm doing a lot of DIY projects and my Mom is very craft savy, so I'm just using Rebeca. I think the beginngin booking is the toughest part, after that, it's fun!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
