DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Jaclyn - thanks! I saw your pics on FB. They look awesome! Now that I'm done with my other girlfriends weddings (I had two...) I can get more excited about my own....

Jess - when it gets closer, I'll totally contact you and we exchange numbers to meet up. Our hotel is in San Marcos and we usually go to Churchills! fun times there! I get to gather at the brewery about 4 times a year and since I used to live in SD, I always try to go out one night while I'm there and get away from the co workers.

And how fun, Las Vegas! I'll be in vegas on Aug 28th for another friends bachelorette party! My bday is on the 27th and this is the second year in a row I have a bachelorette party on my birthday, but I guess turning 27 isn't a big deal..... wink.gif

Hi girls - quick question. Are you doing a welcome dinner somewhere or a get together at Dreams once everyone gets there?

I'd like to do something at Dreams, like drinks/appetizers on the beach but I'm guessing that could get pricey. Does anyone have a price list for something like that? If not I'll just email Rebeca again.

Thanks!

Hi Karen, I was going to do a welcome dinner at Dreams but I think it is around $29 per head? I could be wrong though.

We found a bunch of places outside of the resort in the $20 range so we are going to do that - plus, I think it will be nice to get outside the hotel.

We are going to do our ceremony at 4:30 because it will be over by 5; although the sun sets at 5:30 in November, there is still daylight for a while so we'll still get a good hour in for pictures. Although maybe we should move it back to 4 just to safe (if it's a cloudy day, for instance). I ran it by our photographer since I figured she had experience and would know about the lighting.

We aren't doing a welcome dinner...too many people arriving on different days. But we are doing a welcome "happy hour" every night in one of the bars....which basically means the FI and I will be there for anyone who wants to stop by and say hi or see what's up for the next day, etc.

Those are both really good ideas - thanks so much! We've got a lot to think about.

You might be right, Jess, about the cost. I need to email Rebeca to check on that. I agree, it would be really nice to go into town if we want a dinner. And if we don't end up doing a dinner, a welcome happy hour just to touch base w/ people would totally work.

I was just getting caught back up on the posts and noticed yours on 6.03... OMG... I may be wrong but I think you saw my wedding... Was it on May 22nd. I got married in front of Oceana and yes my coordinator kept me hidden very well until I walked down the isle.

My guests waited under the palapas until right before the wedding party came out. We had our ceremony at 6pm. which was perfect but still scorching hot.... the best part is no one really cares in the moment.

I have been so busy since coming home, plus moving, etc, etc.... I will try to post a review soon.

My guests had an aamzing time at Dreams....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
