DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

Hi Dreams Brides to be! I am going to PV Dreams resort this Sunday in celebration of my college graduation. I am currently engaged and thought what a great opportunity to check out the resort for destination wedding locations. Everything looks wonderful thus far from reading your input and I have become really eager to join the group of you lovely ladies as a Dreams bride to be!!! I am quite picky so keep this in mind when I return with my review! I am hoping to meet with the WC while there and if we absolutely love it, we will be setting a date and making our deposit! I am hoping that there are some weddings planned while I am there to get a better idea of the set up, etc. I look forward to sharing ideas and info! woohoo I am getting the bridal fever!!!! cheer2.gif

thank you Ashley, I'm so sorry to hear all of the mess you have been through sad.gif I think this goes without saying but I am sure that you will make a lovely bride no matter where you are married! I am in the same boat as far as planning a wedding while in school since I will be starting the teaching credentialing program soon and don't want to be in the middle of finals and boarding a plane for my wedding. The timing is tricky!!! Wish you all the best! xoxo

Ashley, just wanted to wish you best of luck and I'm so glad you figured everything out!

I know I mentioned this before, but I only have about 6 ppl booked so far. Is anyone else freaking out about this? My TA emailed me last week and was concerned that more people haven't booked yet because rates are really good right now and the wedding is only about 6 months away!

The best I could do was I posted a blog on our wedding website about travel rates, and I did speak to a few friends that I know are coming for sure. I guess I just have to be prepared for any number of people, even if it is only 10 or so.....

I was just feeling a little down about it, that's all.

But I'm hoping more people will book after we send out our formal invites in June.

Jill - I am totally in the same boat as you! The only people who have booked are my parents and brothers. FIs family is dragging their feet and totally wearing on me. My TA also hit me up about great rates so I don't know what people are doing. I think I am going to send an email to the people who have said they are going. O well if nobody else books... we can meet up and party it up right!

I think guests will start booking after they get the invitation. I had a lot of verbal commitments, but people are lagging - we are totally in the same boat! I just sent out an email today that was very polite and just to let everyone know. We'll see what happens! I didn't even think about it, we will totally be able to meet up! We are arriving on Nov 29th and leaving on the 6th for our "honeymoon" portion of our trip.
How many people are you inviting? How many do you think will come? When we first started, we had an idea of about 50-60 ppl total coming, but now I think it might be more around 35-40 ppl - which I would be ok with.

i don't know how it is where you guys live, but times are quite tough around here - regardless of how good rates are....my cousin just decided she was going to have a dw and as of right this second you could tell me that the trip would cost pennies per person and we wouldn't be able to do it....

so hopefully things will change w/in the next few months. don't be concerned - the people that are seriously planning to be there will be there regardless of rates.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
