DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Wow, Klila-- May 22nd is just around the bend!! You must be so excited!

I missed this ol' forum!! What a friggen' God send this thing is...

I wanted to ask all of the Dreams PV brides which they were doing: Having OOT bags delivered to the rooms before hand ($3 a pop) or if you are all handing them out to your guests.

I think FI and I have decided to deliver the OOT bags to the rooms personally, for a special touch and a bit of cash saved. Rebeca mentioned that we could request room info / numbers from front desk with no problems. Has anyone else considered doing this, or do you think that having them delivered before hand is a better option? (Keep in mind, FI and I will be there a week before everyone-- hooray for backward honeymoons, lol)

We also decided to hand deliver our OOT bags. You're right, it does add a nice personal touch plus you get a chance to greet everyone! :-)

FI's brother got married at Dreams Cancun last year and had the OOT bags delivered to the rooms before you checked in. It was kinda cool having something waiting for you in the room. FI thought it was the greatest thing and is almost insisting that we pay to do it too. He's pretty chill on most things so I'll probably give this one to him ;-) His arguments for us are: 1) everyone is arriving at different times; 2) we're putting itineraries in the bags so people can find us; 3) he just doesnt want to run around chasing people down who might not even be in their room.

we hand delivered, and on one occasion had my mom deliver b/c i was getting ready! we had no prob getting room numbers from gaby, but the front desk would NOT give them to us as a security measure - which i appreciated - but would transfer via phone...just make sure you get the rooms from rebeca.

Hi everyone,

I am a June 25th 2010 Dreams PV bride!!!

Up until yesterday I was planning my wedding at Dreams Tulum, but then I met with my TA because I was still uncertain but loved Dreams resort, after staying in the one in Cabo...and she suggested PV and wow its so beautiful. I knew it was the place immediately!

I'm assuming the packages are the same, but has anyone had experience with the hair/salon? I'm a hair stylist, so to me hair is more important than the dress! haha

also, are you bringing in your own photographer?

Thanks so much! Its amazing to have a community like this when planning a destination wedding!!

Question fellow dreams brides!! When did you start having your guests book at the resort? My travel agent is freaking me out that if people don't start reserving their rooms now that there may not be any rooms left. I mean I am not getting married until next May and will be sending out my Save the Dates next month and with those I was going to include booking information. Because I know alot of my guests want to book their airfare and hotel together and they can't do that until May when next years air prices come out.

Has anyone had an issue with reserving rooms? Or being told that we need to book so far ahead? I mean as soon as air becomes available I want to book because I think it is always cheaper to book them together. Maybe I am wrong. Either way I was just wondering if anyone else had run into this problem. Thanks ladies!feedback.gif

welcome cbbt! I am bringing my own photgrapher down with me - I know there are a few down there though - Paulina Uloa comes to mind (that may be spelled wrong)

And Jessica my guests started booking in early Feb for this November so I don't think your TA should be freaking you out quite yet...also my wedding is on Thanksgiving weekend so if any weekend is going to be busy, that is one of them...do you have a room block? If you have a room block the rooms are reserved for you anyway.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
