DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

m1984,

CONGRATS!! Hope it is everything you have been planning and hoping for!! Can't wait for your review. Are you doing a planning thread, too?

I don't get married until August, but let me know how the sound quality turns out and I would consider splitting the cost with you. We are expecting 65 guests, want to make sure it will be loud enough for the ceremony and reception. I read a bunch of reviews but couldn't make a good decision based on what I read.

HAVE FUNNNN!!!!!!!

we are flying out this saturday and i am officially excited!! our wedding is on may 24th and i think as of today, everything has officially been taken care of! just waiting for the day to come now!

i'm not sure if this is the right thread to post in, but here goes. as my fiance and i are not big on dancing, we opted to bring a sound system that also acts as a microphone to be used during the ceremony as well as the toasts and speeches during dinner. it is a stand alone item that is used for outdoor events. http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/block-rocker-2010-model - also known as the blockrocker!

we will also use it at our bonfire. we figured this is much cheaper than getting the dj and sound system. the most important thing for us was the microphone. i am trying to find out if any brides that will be there after our wedding who would like to buy it from us for their use. figured i'd  try to make my money back as well as save someone else the hassle of lugging one of these things down. we purchased it for  $140 and would like to get that back. i think it's fair as it will have only been used twice and you save on the troubles of bringing it there, and also $20 that it costs to ship it as a second luggage. if anyone is interested, please let me know!!

if no one is interested, i hope this at least serves as a good alternative for the brides who are in similar situations, just want a good mic option for both the ceremony and the dinner.

thanks and happy planning.

Hi ladies.. I read a review on Trip Advisor that a bride was recently married at the resort and they tried charged her a fee for the waiters at the reception. Has anybody else heard anything about this? I would assume that the waiters are included in the fee..

Hi Crystal,

I have NEVER heard of that! It says that a "dinner party" is included. Obviously that should include wait staff! Maybe she hadn't bought a wedding package...?

Yea, I would like to know more about that. My only thought like you mentioned is that maybe a wedding package was not bought and everything was a la carte.

Hi Ladies

On the suject of getting different prices from Esman, I think I have everyone beat!! I just HAVE to vent!!

I sent him a picture of the bouquet and centerpieces i wanted, and he came back to me with an extra $75 for my bouquet, and $75 each for my centerpiece, which is fine

Fast forward a couple weeks and I made a color change to the centerpiece and he asked for the picture again (why he doesn't keep important things like this on file I don't know...) and emails me that the cost is $300 for my bouquest and $350 EACH centerpiece!!! I think i had a heart attack!!!!!! That's is so insane! I wrote him a stern email back (I didn't want to seem absutely livid- which I was!!!) asking why i was quoted this then and now this insane price!!!!!! I am now scrambling getting an outside person to do it for me. How ridiculous.

Thank God my wedding isn't until February! I couldn't imagine if this happened a month before!!! BangHead.gif I'm definitely going to much more tough with him than I was originally, because I never had a reason to be on the defensive, until now. Geez louise....

Oh my goodness! An EXTRA $300! That seems SO ridiculous! Isn't the included bouquet worth like $90 or something already?

I'm so curious... can you post the picture here? I'd love to see this $300 bouquet and $350 centerpiece! I mean, its Mexico, there are flowers everywhere, its not like its Northern Canada in the wintertime!

Well I received an e-mail saying that Esman is turning over all wedding coordination to Elane ( I think that is her name). So I guess we will now be dealing with her.. So frustrating dealing with all these different people..:-(. I am sure everything will still turn out fine..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
