DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies! Question for past brides. Did you have a rehearsal? Right now I am debating on a rehearsal. My pastor will not be there as well as half of my bridal party. So I am not even sure if it is worth it to have one.. I am just wondering how you know when to come down to the beach. Do the wedding coordinator take you down and tell you when to walk and what not? I am curious. Thanks

hey guys!!

we are flying out this saturday and i am officially excited!! our wedding is on may 24th and i think as of today, everything has officially been taken care of! just waiting for the day to come now!

i'm not sure if this is the right thread to post in, but here goes. as my fiance and i are not big on dancing, we opted to bring a sound system that also acts as a microphone to be used during the ceremony as well as the toasts and speeches during dinner. it is a stand alone item that is used for outdoor events. http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/block-rocker-2010-model - also known as the blockrocker!

we will also use it at our bonfire. we figured this is much cheaper than getting the dj and sound system. the most important thing for us was the microphone. i am trying to find out if any brides that will be there after our wedding who would like to buy it from us for their use. figured i'd  try to make my money back as well as save someone else the hassle of lugging one of these things down. we purchased it for  $140 and would like to get that back. i think it's fair as it will have only been used twice and you save on the troubles of bringing it there, and also $20 that it costs to ship it as a second luggage. if anyone is interested, please let me know!!

if no one is interested, i hope this at least serves as a good alternative for the brides who are in similar situations, just want a good mic option for both the ceremony and the dinner.

thanks and happy planning.

We were married in April.  We opted not to have a rehersal because we really didn't have much af a wedding party.  They took care of everything.  They tld when and where to go, and when to start walking.  The entire ceremony went wonderully even with a few ad libs.  If you don't have anything particularly custom to your ceremony you should be fine with out it.  Just talk to your wedding coordinator the day of so you know how everything is working out.

M1984- I wish I would have known earlier!!

We leave June 4th and would have bought it for sure! We just bought a Bose system, PLUS we are renting the sound system just for the microphone. :(

I hope someone else can help you out!

And by the way.... EEEEEEE! Your day has almost arrived! I am 2.5 weeks away and I can barely control my excitement. You must be unreal excited! I wish you the best time ever! I hardly wait to hear all about it! Congrats!

Aww. I'm sorry I didn't post it earlier. It never occurred to me until later that people would be in the same predicament. And okay, I admit it, I'm a procrastinator. If you just bought it, is there any way you can return it? Or is it too late to cancel the rental? Not trying to push you at all, just figured it's a win win for us both if you wanted it!

And yes, it took me a really long time to get excited that when I started randomly messaging people "MEXICO!" they thought I was crazy. I guess according to them I'm supposed to be excited a lot sooner but it only really started to get real last week at my fitting. I never had a bridal shower so there was nothing that felt "weddingy".

And yes, I am so looking forward to my review. I have found this forum so helpful that I can't wait to come back and share what we did!!

Congrats to you too!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
