DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Has anyone used Air Canada Vacations for a trip to Dreams PV? Just wondering if it costs more between the deluxe room with the french balcony and the fully furnished balcony? I looked on Air Canada's site but it looks like they don't even offer the fully furnished balcony choice???

One of my girlfriends left a little early, stopped at the lobby bar and ordered champagne and some trays of food to be delivered to the room. The timing was perfect.

Excuse the awful pictures, but I pulled out the ones from the salon:

Thank you for the pics!  This may sound silly but do they wash your hair before they style it?

Here is my warning for Air Canada Vacations.

I booked my wedding of 40 people with Air Canada last November, for my wedding in a few weeks. A couple months ago they sent an EMAIL to my travel agent, informing her that they cancelled ALL THE FLIGHTS to PV for April/May/June of this year. And that we out of luck. They in essence CANCELLED my wedding for me! I was devestated. Luckily, we were able to rebook at the last minute with West Jet, but for a much higher price, without all the early booking bonuses we had got for confiming early, and not as a 'group", so we lost the $1500 we would have reveived for bringing that many people to Dreams. With Air Canada all our guests from around the country would have met in Calgary and transferred on to PV. With WestJet we are all over the place, on different flights at different times, so that sucks too. Air Canada didn't even so much as appologize. Can you imagine? They just cancelled the flights!

So I am NOT impressed with Air Canada and their service.

But to answer your question, our prices with Air Canada were as follows. I've never heard of "fully furnished balcony". Do you mean the Jr. Suites in the new tower? Note that the below price is for two people, so you have to cut in half for the per person price. The Jr. Suite was about $200 extra each for the week. Well worth it I think!

Lauren already answered, but they also told me to come with clean, dry hair.

Mine was clean, but not dry as I went there right after the shower. They hadn't told me otherwise and nothing was said so I wouldn't worry about it too much if you don't get a chance to dry before you go. Bianca just dried it when I arrived...took all of about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the info!! Unfortunately prices have gone up significantly and we are forced to go with Air Canada. Price are about $500 more per person from your quote. WestJet is double this cost.

Here's hoping that they don't cancel any flights in February!!!

Thanks again for the info.

The photography on site at the resort did a beautiful job with my wedding.

To everyone please check out my thread titled warning...I am a new user and posted seperate, but I just returned from my wedding at the Dreams PVR resort and had a few bad experiences.  I don;t want anyone to have to deal with what I did.

thanks for your warning.  who did you have shoot your wedding?  i have to say that the photographers have been great.  always responding right away and gave me samples of their work.  they even told me i could pick my photographer.  i chose christheell.  i liked her's and eder's work also.  actually all of their work was great.  i'm sure that part will be great anyway..as for dealing with the other issues...not so great so far.

i have a question for any past brides regarding the menu choices.  i have been speaking to esman about getting some mexican options instead of what is offered.  another bride posted that she got mexican appetizers but i didn't see any main course options.  he is very vague and keeps asking me what i want but i don't even know what i can choose from.  there is no menu on the dreams website to get ideas for main courses.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
