DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Recommended Posts

I'm a travel agent and I'm planning my own wedding......

I dont know why you would want to do this on your own totally. I do this 40 hours a week and there's a lot to it!

I recently went to Cancun and Riviera Maya and did a Destination Wedding Tour. Hotels set up their weddings so we could see what each hotel could offer. There's no way as an individual you would be able to aquire this much information.

So dont knock it until you try it! :P

I just got engaged and started planning our wedding. Dreams PV has been the best option so far.

Anything I need to know?

And also, I would take recommendations for a travel agent, since you all seem to recommend getting one.

Thanks :)

I'm a travel agent and I'm getting married at Dreams PV 12/11/10

[email protected] is my email. There are great DW programs thru Delta and Continental that you earn $ for your guests booking. So far that has really worked for brides and that's what I'm doing.

You know, you have some great points about using a TA! It makes me second guess our decision. I just have no idea how to find a TA I trust! I have not used one in about 10 years. Im a crazy deal hunter and love to do it, so I do! But my one big worry is fielding 100's of requests and questions. I think I may need to do a little searching this week. I have a few days off, so it would be a good time.

We did decide to send STDs as well. Funny story (although Im sure many of you have experienced this too!) - I was on this site with my fiance sitting next to me, looking at the STD thread. He goes "what the ****? Why are they talking about STDs ?Are we going to have people asking about this because it's Mexico? People are CRAZY!" I thought he was kidding and just kind of went "haha." He says "no. seriously. why?(completely bewildered)" I just about died laughing! ahhh I love all the wedding lingo!

I'm a travel agent and I'm planning my wedding at Dreams PV on 12/11/10. I love my job. Just pick a travel agent that does this more than once a year because there is so much to know! But as a general rule, we all try to travel as much as possible so we can be a wealth of information.

Sounds like you have the perfect attitude for an awesome DW. The bonfire on the beach is way cool (one of the best decisions that we made), but I agree that you might check into the weding packages as they are so economical. I bet they would add a bonfire to a beach reception if you talked with the WC.

Happy Monday everyone!

The bonfire was $250 when I just asked and we are adding it. I think it will be really neat and we are going to do it the night before instead of a rehearsal dinner.

I feel your pain.  What are you planning to do? Are you having guests stay at a different resort?  I cant believe they are all sold out.  We are still looking for one room but its for my mom friend.  I cant imagine what I would do if it was family...maybe double or triple book someone?  We are considering having FI's mom and sister, who both have singles, double up for the 3 nights we need the room.  On top of this, Dreams is really not that helpful...sort of rude.  Here we all are bringing in soooo much money for them but they dont have any options?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
