DREAMS PUERTO VALLARTA "thread"

Exciting miss delerium! I think we went through 10 dates, before we found one that fit. I stressed and cried over the rejection of date after date, but the one we got was soooo perfect. Remember that everything happens for a reason and I'm sure you will get a great date!

Hi everyone! I have been on the Dreams Puerto Aventuras a bit, and reading this one as well. We have decided to have our wedding here. After a lot of back and forth with dates, it seems that there are no Saturdays left for April 2011. Has anyone had a Friday wedding? The only reason I am worried is because of the Mexican Fiesta that night. I think we would have our reception at las Palmas, by the pool. Is the fiesta close by? I did try to search the forum, but I did not see anything specific to this. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

My wedding is on a Tuesday. We went with that because we all arrive Saturday, then will have a couple days to get comfy, then we wanted the wedding to be over with so guests don't feel like they have to spend the entire week of their holiday with us. We wanted them to feel like they could have their own vacation as well as being there for our wedding.

I do remember reading somewhere (here or Tripadvisor) that one bride could hear the music coming from the entertainment of the night from Las Palmas. It would kinda dampen your night I think, take away from your party.....

there was some other big party on the sat. night that we got married and i remember hearing the music in the background when we quieted down for toasts. we had a mic, so hearing the toasts was no problem. we also had a dj, so our music was loud enough for us. i'd just make sure your entertainment - if less than a dj - has plenty of speakers.

Great planning April. Your guests will appreciate you thinking of them.

gowiththeflow ~ The Mexican Fiesta is HUGE at Dreams PV. And I think has the best food served that night. It was something that all of my guests attended and really enjoyed. It is pretty loud and takes place around the main pool so it is very close to Las Palmas and the Gazebo. They set up tables around the pool, there is a stage, and vendors so it really is a big party. The other nights were definitely less rowdy and probably more preferable for a wedding reception at Las Palmas. Honestly the weekdays are less crowded at the resort in general so a wedding may seem a little more private. But if your timeline for the wedding must be a Friday or Saturday, and you don't want the beach, you might see if you could work something out at Oceana or Seaside Grill. Both overlook the ocean and are very pretty for a reception. Also, you might check out different months for available Saturdays. Good luck!

Has anyone tried calling Rebecca directly to book a date? She was really good about responding quickly about dates a few weeks ago, but now Im hearing nothing! I actually emailed her twice to try to pin down a date and I have not got a response. Im really stressing because we want to send out STDs!

OH and thanks everyone for the input regarding Fridays! I would love to try a wed or thurs, but I think most of our guests would only be coming for 5 nights, over the weekend, so I don't know how that would work. Plus the fiesta sounds like a lot of fun and I would like to go! Are Oceana or Seaside Grille rentable? I don't see anything on the wedding guide online....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
