well, your dream wedding sounds LOVELY!

When you say formal wedding, do you want it in a church? Or just in a Gazebo type setting?

This photographer is very well known in the Riviera Maya. They do beautiful work... but more importantly they have posted a lot of their work on this forum to help people out! Check out this thread...

That will list a LOT of the places where you can get married near Playa and also give you a visual of what the weddings are like.

This thread is about a wedding at the church in Playa and then a resort reception...

Okay... now the biggest help is that these wonderful photographers also just got married in Playa!

here is their review http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15288

The most important part is that they had a band which they thought was AMAZING. Here is what they wrote

"Music: This was on Top of my list, I needed good music, and I found Balance, they are 8 musicians, play anykind of music, English & Spanish, they kept everybody dancing for 4 hours! Even in the breaks, the DJ selections were great.. I highly recommend them: Balance la Banda - Downloads"

I hope this helps! :)

Wow awesome...I ask for an inch, I get a mile. Thanks SO MUCH for all this info already. How am I supposed to live up to the Groomzilla name if you guys make it too easy :P

As for "formal wedding", I just really meant not right on the beach with everyone around and I would still like the wedding party to dress up a bit (ie no shorts, barefeet/flip flops). I will look into the different options you suggested.

Thanks again!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
