I'm SOOOO pale...but I want a little color. Does it streak later or stay even? I'm at the point that I'll try anything! I swear a good tan takes off at LEAST 5 lbs too!

it's a tan enhancer.. so you put it over your normal spf, if you use it. it's not a self-tanner and if you burn easily, this can make it worse because it's so oily.. porcelain skin will fry right up. i usually only use it after i have a base tan. hope that helps?

I am a bit confused ... if you use spf that's a sunscreen ... so if you're trying to keep from burning but then you use this "oil" that enhances ... wouldn't you just use one or the other? So this is supposed to make you tan faster ... like the suntan oils right? I'm not sure I need that ... I use 30 block so I won't get tan lines while in the sun and then go to the tanning bed to tan. LOL

I was just going to start using a good self tanner and hope I get very dark before we leave but then after reading that it will fade from the swimming pool and I'll spend a lot of time in the pool that could be bad too.

I just want to have a good tan without destroying my skin! *sigh* Suzanne

this is straight from the website:

MAUI BABE BROWNING LOTION is NOT a stain or self tanner.Maui Babe Browning Lotion

It accelerates the sun triggered tanning processes in your skin, eliminating long torturous hours cultivating your tan. AMAZING MAUI BABE BROWNING LOTION is safe for all skin types -- even the fairest and most sensitive. It can even be used with sunscreens, should you choose to do so.

the reason i brought up an spf is because i burn before i tan. so i don't use this stuff until i already have a base tan because it doesn't offer the protection i need at first. if you tan immediately then don't worry about a sunscreen.

I ordered 2 bottles for the sun and 1 bottle for the tanning bed.. It's VERY greasy but I will say that it is AMAZING!! I am about as pale as they come.. I used it in the tanning bed.. no burn, and my tan is really starting to come...I don't find it steaky or anything either. I would def recommend it!! :)

Hey guys!! We just returned from Maui! I bought some Maui Babe on the 1st day & used it just on my legs for about an hour a day (I was afraid to use it everywhere, for fear of a burn.) Well now I have incredibly dark legs & just a decent tan everywhere else :) So, YES it does work. I have to disagree about the smell though - I hated it!! It is very greasy, but it works, so give it a try. I also purchased the Maui Babe After Browning Lotion; it helps seal in & extend the life of your tan & it smells so good (clean & fresh.) Hope that helps; just thought I would share my experience.

I MISS MAUI, but we are already planning our return -maybe for Christmas :)

My parents live in Hawaii and everything time I go visit I buy this stuff because it really is EVERYWHERE. It works great!! I get sun allergies pretty easily so I won't use it unless I have a good base tan or my skin will flare up.

The brown one works like a bronzer does in the tanning bed, or same idea...a hint of color while you're laying out but no stain after you wash it off.

I would recommend this product if you're looking to get some "natural" color.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
