What relaxation methods do you use when the going gets tough?

Just was wondering what you ladies do to relax when you're getting to the breaking point?

I've been so busy and stressed lately with training a new girl at work, packing my stuff, getting rid of furniture, dealing with my stupid FSIL, and most of all wedding planning! My life is nuts dude! I've had a splitting head ache all friggin day and it won't go away no matter how much advil I've popped. Decided to have a bath and pour these salts in the bath that my FH got me. They are supposed to take away stress? Didn't really work... I guess it helped though.

Any of you meditate? Perhaps I should bring out the pilates video.... I don't know but I do know most of you gals are stressed out as well. So I'm just wondering how do you deal with it all and not lose it?!

Well that depends on how much energy I have. If I am not too tired I will lift and run my brains out. Sometimes at work I just swear like a truck driver when no one is around, or if I am at home a long shower and a glass of wine. Either way this hard time will pass for you and everything that you are doing now will make things much better in the end for you and your FI.

I've been feeling prettty stresseed recently myself - though just with too many work projects and the wedding stuff. I find a few things help:

1. yoga class - I always feel good after I've sweated and stretched and meditated a bit. This one seems to work for work stress and other stresses too.

2. get Fi to give me a back rub. This feels great in so many ways - for one it's actually physically relaxing to have tight muscles rubbed. Also it's nice to be close to my FI and three it'sd nice to know someone cares about YOu and is there foe you when you feel bad or sad and it makes you feel better to be taken care of.

3. Girls night with a few close friends and a bottle of wine, perhaps some tasty food and cheesy TV (like Top Model, or the Bachelor, or some chic flick)

4. A long, hot shower

5. A good cry - sometimes you just need to let it out! This works best if it's on your FIs shoulder so he can make you feel better.

Hang in there, you're so close!

I too am a fan of the "big glass of wine" remedy! lol!

But serisously, if you can I would definitely reccomend getting a massage. Even if it's just 30 minutes you're away from everything, surrounded by quiet soothing sounds and for just a little while someone is focused completely on making you relax and feel good.

If you don't have the time, $$ or whatever to go get a massage, lock yourself in your bathroom and take a hot bath, drink something yummy (ideally alcoholic!) light some candles and maybe even play some music to cover up sounds like the phone ringing etc. Maybe get one of those little eye pillows or gel eye mask thingys too...I find those really soothing and if you chill it first it feels really good to be in a hot bath with a cool mask on your eyes!

Ok, last one...and maybe this only works for me...lol! But, I actually like to have an alone date every so often. I'll actually go to lunch somewhere that I really like or don't go to often and then I LOVE seeing a movie on my own! One of the theaters I like to go to actually has a Cheesecake Factory right next to it, so I'll get a slice of cheesecake and a coffee to go and take it in the movie with me. blush2.gif

I hope some of our ideas help and you start feeling a little better soon!!

As a truck driver (one of many that doesn't swear) and living in a rolling shoe box plus trying to plan a wedding while on the road -- stress is my middle name -- I highly recommend a good massage or candlelit soak maybe with a glass of wine -- I personally spend time with my dog walking or just goofing off -- she always makes me smile!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
