New York City Engagement

Recommended Posts

Well girls, I figured it was my turn.

After four years of dating through college, my fiance and I are now currently in a long distance relationship. He moved for a work oppoortunity with a family memeber and I have remained here to finish school and get a job. That's a story in itself though, which we are still trying to figure out the solution to!

But he came to visit me one weekend and met me in New York City when I got out of work. We had planned to just spend the day in the city, have dinner, and go back home to my parents house. He suggested going on the tour up to the top of the empire state building. While we were up there "on top of the world" he came up behind me with a beautiful ring and asked me to be his best friend forever. I, of course, said yes and shed the expected tears.

Then he tells me that he booked a hotel room so we could spend the night in the city. My first answer was "but I dont have clothes". He had that covered too though as my whole family already knew and my dad had dropped a bag off at the hotel. I couldn't believe they all know and I didn't figure it out. The room was beautiful and filled with rose petals and champagne. It was all so sweet.

I was most impressed though that he actually managed to suprise me! I hate suprises and always pry to figure them out. I think he was more impressed with himself for pulling off the suprise factor than actually getting engaged!

Now we're on to planning and are so excited for our Cabo Wedding!

Nicole-- It's so nice to hear that someone else was in a long distance relationship that worked out too! You hear soo many that just don't last! Congrats to you two! Yeah with us its been like two extremes because we were actually living together for 2 years during college and now we're doing to the ld thing.. so sometimes I'm so jealous of my friends whose relationships are a happy medium!

Jennifer-- Yes, I couldn't believe they knew before me and no one gave it away!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
