Karesen Bridal - shipping and Brokerage to Canada

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies

I know a few of you have used Kaersen Bridal for your dresses and seem to have had good luck - I have finally found my dress, but am wondering how you found the brokerage?

I am in Canada, so not sure how it would compare to those of you in the States but would be interested in hearing.

Also which option did you use to get it shipped?

Thanks a bunch

I did not use the vendor you speak of, but have had a LOT of things shipped to me from the States. I live in Montreal, but I'm sure there is not that much difference.

My absolute #1 choice for shipping from the U.S. is

USPS Priority International (The prices are usually incredibly competitive - and I know that I will just get a slip in the mail to go pick up my parcel...not like other companies that try to deliver only during hours which I am working - then end up having to make special arrangements anyway)!. It is the only shipping method where I NEVER get nailed with big duties/brokerage/tax fees upon receipt.

I find FedEx and UPS the most expensive with those fees.

Hope this helps a bit.

Hey,

Not sure if this will help in this case since I don't know if your place ships from the US or not, but since you are in Vancouver, it is easy to go to Pt. Roberts to pick stuff up. There are a whole bunch of places there that you can have stuff shipped to and then you just pay a small fee to pick it up there (3.00USD for a package under 20lbs). This way you don't ever have to pay brokerage fees and only rarely will have to pay Duty... it all depends on which customs officer you have. Plus in pt. roberts the wait is NEVER more than 15 min to cross, so may be worth it! I have used Tsb Shipping Plus, LLC

UPS brokerage fees are insane. They're the highest. I learned the hard way and I ended up paying $50 brokerage and duty on a $70 order. They do not tell you the full price when you order and the UPS guide is not accurate. I was expecting about $20-$30 and if I had known it was that bad, I definitely wouldn't have made the purchase. Use USPS (US Postal Service) whenever you can or companies that have the Canada Borderfree option for US-Canada orders.

All brokerage fees are insane! Most ocmpanies charge 40 - 40$ Except for USPS/ Canada post they charge a whopping 5$ !

That being said, if you are ordering a dress onlnie from Kaersen's I would bite the bullet and just go for whatever shipping they normally use. Just because they are used to shipping a certain way, I would not want to confuse them. And since it is coming from China, they might not has United States postal Services, and I would not trust their Chinese postal service.

Any other item coming from the US defeintly ship via USPS! I have even gone so far as to call Customer Service and requested it, when the online website did not

Best of luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
