Days your guests are staying and schedule of activities?

Recommended Posts

Well mine is also different....as we are getting married on a small island in Cuba there is only one flgiht in and out each week so this is the itinerary thus far:

Jan 30 - Everyone arrives in Montreal Canada stay over night

Jan 31 - Everyone meets for bunch at the hotel (I guess this is like a rehearsal dinner...but no rehearsal..LOL. Everyone leaves for Cuba that afternoon

Feb 1 - Free day for guests to explore the hotel and its offerings...

Feb 2 - Catamaran Cruise in the afternoon (optional)

Feb 3 - Finalizing wedding plans...everyone meets for dinner and we explain wedding day.

Feb 4 - Wedding day...sunset wedding on the beach with reception following

Feb 5 - Free day for guests...may take day trip to Iguana Island

Feb 6 - Free day

Feb 7 - All guests return that evening to Canada

Feb 14 - Bride and Groom return to Canada

Ours is very different because guests are there longer than some other weddings and we all arrive at the same time...and all fly down on the same plane!

FI and I are staying 8 days almost all guests are staying 5. The wedding is on Saturday and they will arrive Thursday, leave Tuesday.

Here's our itinerary:

We get in on Tuesday 9/30, we have that day/night to relax.

Wednesday we meet with WC and have blood test. We also plan to run around and get stuff for out oot bags.

Thursday all guests arrive and we have a welcome party at one of the Riu's pool bars for an hour (drinks and apps). After that I assume everyone will move to another bar in the resort and party it up.

Friday from 10:30-1:00 we'll have games at the pool. Volleyball, bingo, etc. for prizes. (we got t-shirts and other souvineers the last time we were in Cabo)

Friday night, rehersal for wedding party and immediate family with dinner after at Panchos. The rest of the guests are encouraged to meet us out on the town afterwards and we are meeting at the Jungle bar to start the bar hop.

Saturday, Wedding. Nothing special planned beforehand. I think my BMs and I will hang out, order lunch and get ready together.

Sunday, my parents are setting up a sunset cruise for whoever wants to go and then some people are doing a canopy tour in the morning.

Monday, the guys might golf.

Tuesday everyone leaves and we might plan a farewell breakfast/brunch at the resort.

I've been getting a very slow trickle of itineraries for my wedding guests. My FI and I purchased our tickets online back in March (before the price of oil went through the roof). Needless to say, we are locked in for 2 weeks in Hawaii. Here's our tentative itineray.

Wednesday - fliying in-checkin to hotel

Thursday - FIL and family fly in @ 10am. Lunch shenanigans and checkin to hotels

Friday - Get marriage license. Casual Pool Party in lieu of rehearsal dinner.

Saturday - wedding day!!!

Sunday - may meet wedding guests for food (nothing planned cuz of costs)

Monday - check into honeymoon timeshare and hide from lingering wedding guests (except my neice whom I have to take to airport at 9pm)

Tuesday - 90% of wedding guests departing HI

Thursday - last 10% of guests departing HI

Wow, I have a busy November planned!

For all the brides going on excursions with their guest ...

  • Are you paying for it?
  • Are your guest paying for it?
  • Are you paying for part of it?

If you are not paying for it how are you inviting/wording it so they don't think it is free?

I am not sure yet if I am planning one I can't tell if there will be enough time and if we can afford it?

no, at least not at dreams cancun. however, if you plan on getting LEGALLY married in mexico it has to be on a weekday, and you need to be in mexico for 4 business days before the wedding. getting married ON day 4 is ok, which is why we r getting married on a thursday (would have preferred friday but it was unavailable).

i should correct myself ... i think someone on here said you could be legally married on a saturday morning but your certificate would have friday's date. not sure about this, but i know i wanted my cert to match my actual wedding day (or else i would have done the legal part at home)!

Answers to your question...

We are not paying for it as we are not making anyone come...but since that is one of the highlights of our resort we suspect that everyone will want to come.

As for the wording...we are going to announce it at the breakfast we are having in Montreal to let everyone in on what we think the week may look like. That is also were we will give out any information that we have and then everyone knows as much as the bride and groom.

I do not think that helps you but maybe another bride can help you out!

We are planning an excursion to Dunns River Falls and we are not paying for our guests. We put the information on our website. I just said, "this is something we've been wanting to do and we would love for everyone to join us but it is completely voluntary and I put what the price of the excursion would be. We were initally going to pay for our guests to do this but at $79 a person and wedding costs adding up I just don't think we will be able to afford to pay for them anymore.

Oh, and our daily schedule is:

Tues: me and FI arrive, finalize wedding stuff and chill out
Wedns: finalize wedding stuff and chill out, photographer arrives
Thurs: guests arrive, wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner
Fri: wedding and reception
Sat: TTD and Dunns River excursion
Sun: guests and photographer leave
Mon: me and Fi chill
Tues: me and FI leave

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
