I was really hoping to be able to do an excursion but it doesn't look like we are going to be able to. We arrive on Sat May 4th along with my parents and son, FI parents and brother, and another couple (one of The groomsmen). From there I have 2 bridesmaids arriving Wed, the other 3 on Thursday. My fiancé has 2 groomsmen arriving Sat, one Wed, and one Thurs. We have guests arriving Tues, Wed, and Thurs. Our wedding is on Friday. We definitely didn't want to do an excursion that excluded anyone in our bridal party or our parents. With the last of our bridal party arriving the day before the wedding and the first one departing leaving the day after the wedding, we really couldn't find a day to do it! We are going to do a rehearsal dinner Thurs night once everyone has arrived so we had another event all together other than the wedding, but I was really hoping to do an excursion.

The cost of the wedding seems to be adding up and up and UP!!! So no excursions for us. But our resort does a beach bonfire on Thursday nights ( which is the day all our guests arrive) we are inviting everyone to join us for this event and to wear "all white" so we stand out as a group and my photographer can get done great group shots of everyone in white! Then the wedding is Saturday. We will all meet up for brunch Sunday! Other than that... Everyone is on their own. We wanted our guests to feel this is their vacation rather than pushing them to do what we wanted each day! So the 3 events seemed enough: beach bonfire, WEDDING, and brunch!

Our guests are all arriving on different days, and staying in different hotels too. Me and my Fi are staying at his parents place until the day before the wedding. I'm hoping to have a girls night with my sister ( chief bridesmaid), my bridesmaids and my mother in law and her sisters. My Fi will do same with his grooms men and his Dad. We'll have a rehearsal dinner the night before ( Monday) the wedding on Tuesday, and Wednesday will be NYE, so we might see if we'll meet up for drinks/dinner. Other than that, we'll let everyone relax and enjoy their holiday!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
