New, undecided, and crazed!

Hi everyone!

I'm Stephanie and I am freaking out. Yep, got engaged last June. Started off hot, then cooled my jets. Now, my tentative date for sept is looming near and I have no clue as to where we are going to have a wedding. Looks like we are going to push the date. My biggest problem is that we live in CA and our families are from across the US. We were thinking hawaii or mexico. Smaller the better. Both of our families are complaining about a destination wedding. Then again, they are complaining about coming to Cali as well. I'm thinking elope. I guess it would help if I wasn't such a tight wad! blush2.gif If anyone has some good suggestions, let er rip!

Welcome! I think you can still pull off a Sept. date if you want to - you may have to be a little flexible, but it's definitely possible! What's important to you, what are you looking for?

All Inclusive?

Adult only, or family friendly resort?

Beach, Gazebo, or Church wedding?

Resort wedding, or off-site?

We're here to help!

hi... Stephanie... welcome...

we had the same problem with family complaining about our DW... 'its too far', 'its too much'... so we just tried to convince our families that it was more a vacation and not just a wedding... it just seemed to peak their interests when they looked at it as a vacation, instead of a trip just to go to a wedding...

again... welcome...

Hey Stephanie, congrat's on your up and coming wedding. I know not a lot of brides here are going with an all inclusive. But you can find lots of resorts that include weddings in your stay for free. My friend got married in DR (coming from Canada) and guests got a weeks AI vacation for just under $1200 per person. That is also what she paid and she got married there! Which I don't think is bad. First maybe list your requirements..i.e children stay free, lots of excursions available, wedding free, legal requirements.... then go from there. It will cut down on the number of possibilities for you. Good luck, and will be looking for all your wedding plan updates.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
