platinum wedding ring

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know a good place to get a platinum wedding ring? My fiance got my engagement ring from Jared several years ago. Now that I'm looking for a platinum wedding ring to go with it, the selection just isn't that good. They have a few rings, but they are so expensive. I really didn't want to pay $2000 for a ring. frown.gif Unfortunately, a plain band doesn't look right with my ring so it has to have diamonds in the band. So I guess if I have to pay that much I will, but I was just wondering if anyone knows where to get a ring a little cheaper.

Thanks!

I think Shane Company is great. They are very reasonable and have outstanding service. I don't know if you have one close by.

Platinum is VERY expensive right now; all of the metals are. It also doesn't retain it's shine and will need to be re-coated every year or so.

You might want to look at a white gold band for now and upgrade later if it is more cost effective.

We got my platinum engagement ring from Jared's as well, and I really want to get my wedding band from there too since I take it in to get cleaned for free there, and I want to have my ring and band saudered together. I feel the same way - Jared's only has a few platinum bands, and none of them interested me, especially for the price! I have decided to go with a white gold band, as they have a much larger selection of those, for a *much* better price. And it matches perfectly...no one will know the difference except you. That is just MHO.

I had to get a platinum band because of my Ering and was shocked by the price given by our jeweler. smile43.gif When I started shopping arround, I found out that he actually gave us the best price since the cost of platinum and gold went up tremendously recently. My hubby also insisted on getting a platinum band and I have to tell you that $2K for a band WITH diamonds doesn't sound too steep. I know that's not the what you were looking for but, it took me a lot of shopping around to realize just how expensive platinum actually is.

Hi!

I don't think you should be matching the white gold with Platinum. It will look very similar now, but the white gold's color will change with time and then it won't match your engagement ring.

My FI got my ering in the diamond district in NY, you can get great deals there but you have to be careful of some worksmanship.... if you're planning on any trip to the NY area prior to your wedding, I would definetely recommend the diamond district bc they can make anything you want for you at a much better price or same price, but better quality.

If you're interested, I can send you the store we are dealing with. I'm thrilled with the finished product and have had other jewelrs compliment the worksmanship.

That's what I am afriad of. So I would rather pay a little more now, rather than have to buy a new ring down the road.

I'm definitely interested. That is the PERFECT excuse to visit New York! I appreciate the information!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
