We are looking to get off in Grand Cayman and have the ceremony and small reception at the Grand Old House.

As for the liscence, do any of you know if both bride and groom have to go pick it up? I have read that it takes 2 hours to process?

Any info and details are appreciated.

Thanks

I'm not sure about the requirements. Grand Cayman looks like a gorgeous spot for a wedding! That's the port we visit the day after our wedding in Jamaica. Just an FYI and you've probably already looked into this...Grand Cayman is one of the most missed stops due to weather. I'm sure you'll be fine but I wanted to throw that out there for you.

OOO, I've been to Grand Cayman via cruise... it's awesome! You have chosen a gorgeous place for a wedding! What cruise line are you taking?

As for the requirements, there was someone on our boat who got married there, and yes... they both had to do the paperwork.

What did you do in Grand Cayman? We are on Freedom of the Seas and that stop is the day after our wedding. Any recommendations?

Sting Ray Snorkeling. They take you out to a sand bar on the north side of grand caymen where sting rays gather. They are very friendly and will eat right out of your hand. And don't worry these stingrays are small and have never hurt anyone. We have such great pictures from there.

Make it easy on yourself and do the legal stuff back home. Then you won't be rushing all over. Time in port goes so quickly and you need to make sure you are back on the boat on time.

When we went to Grand Cayman (Twice on a cruises actually) we went snorkeling and to the sting ray city. my BIGGEST recommendation is NOT booking with the ship. It's ridiculous! They pull up in a boat of about 200 people! You are lucky if you get a picture with a sting ray. We booked through shoretrips.com both times and you are in a boat with 20 people maximum. it's awesome. Everyone gets to fed them, hold them, kiss them... and they actually have time to teach you about the animals. I loved it. It's also within walking distance to the bus that will take you to the boat (from the port that is)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
